To facilitate the sale of ornamental plants by households, while ensuring urban aesthetics, traffic safety, and environmental hygiene, Long Duc ward has issued a plan for arranging and organizing seasonal ornamental plant sales points for the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 in the area.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of the Long Duc Ward People's Committee: According to the plan, the area for selling ornamental plants and potted flowers will be mainly located along the Long Binh River embankment (from Hung Vuong Street to Ly Tu Trong Street), in Hamlet 1 and Hamlet 5. Specifically, the ward will arrange 92 stalls for ornamental plants, including 57 along the embankment and 35 on the sidewalks of Bach Dang and Ly Tu Trong streets, ensuring safe traffic distances as regulated.
In addition, the ward has arranged a decorative area with miniature landscapes at the old pier with the theme "Happy New Year 2026," creating a highlight for the spring festivities and serving the needs of people who want to visit and take photos. A parking area of approximately 1,500m² has also been arranged to meet the needs of visitors and shoppers.
The planned period for selling ornamental plants is from February 6th to noon on February 16th, 2026. Potted flowers will be available for sale for 6 days, starting from February 10th, 2026. Households growing ornamental plants in the two craft villages in Long Duc ward will be exempt from land use fees.
Mr. Dinh Hoang Vinh (Long Duc ward) said: This Tet holiday, his family prepared about 6,000 pots of ornamental flowers of various kinds such as cockscomb, marigold, chrysanthemum… Currently, he has selected the pots of flowers that are blooming evenly and beautifully to gather along the rural road, making it convenient for people to visit and shop.
Accordingly, the price of chrysanthemums ranges from 100,000 to 200,000 VND per pair, depending on the type; marigolds and cockscomb flowers are priced from 100,000 to 150,000 VND per pair. Mr. Vinh registered for stalls at the Long Duc Ward flower market and the Tra Vinh Ward flower market for the remaining flowers. Because the Tra Vinh Ward flower market is a traditional market, even if the local authorities arrange additional selling points, he still prioritizes registering for a stall there.
In the Tra Vinh market area, the ward has allocated 257 stalls within the boundaries of Pham Thai Buong Street and several other streets in the area. It is expected that the arrangement will be completed by the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month, creating favorable conditions for traders to start doing business on time.
With proactive and coordinated preparations from relevant agencies and the consensus of traders, the flower market promises to operate smoothly, meeting the Tet shopping needs of the people and contributing to creating a safe, civilized, and vibrant spring atmosphere.
