Five schools in border areas have been built.
After the merger, Lam Dong became the province with the largest area in the country, with over 24,233 km² and nearly 4 million inhabitants. Along its more than 141 km long border with Mondulkiri province (Cambodia), many areas still face numerous difficulties in infrastructure, living conditions, and access to education .
Implementing the Politburo 's policy on building schools in border communes, the province has decided to invest in the construction of five new boarding schools for all levels in the communes of Tuy Duc, Quang Truc, Thuan Hanh, Thuan An, and Dak Wil, with a total budget of over 1.143 billion VND. Of these, the Quang Truc Primary and Secondary Boarding School has a total investment of 240 billion VND; the remaining four schools each have an investment of nearly 226 billion VND. The projects are being implemented under a special mechanism to shorten the construction time while still ensuring the quality and progress as planned.
Accordingly, construction on two multi-level boarding schools in Quang Truc and Thuan An communes began in November 2025 with total investments of VND 240 billion and nearly VND 226 billion respectively. To date, the main components have progressed well. The structural work of the buildings is basically complete, and many items have entered the finishing stage. It is expected that both projects will be completed, inspected, and put into use before August 30, 2026.

The remaining three projects in Tuy Duc, Thuan Hanh, and Dak Wil communes will commence in March 2026, with a total investment of nearly 226 billion VND for each project. Local authorities are urgently completing land clearance, leveling the ground, and implementing the first construction phases, striving for completion by July 2027.
Investing in people
According to the Department of Education and Training, the construction of schools in border areas faces numerous difficulties. The rainy season arrives early and lasts for a long time, and the terrain is hilly and complex. In addition, construction materials are scarce and prices fluctuate, while each project requires hundreds of laborers to ensure completion on schedule. Furthermore, land clearance in some areas also encounters many obstacles related to determining land prices, policies supporting crops, and gaining the consensus of the local population.
Faced with these difficulties, the province established a Steering Committee and working groups to regularly inspect and resolve obstacles. Local authorities were instructed to expedite land clearance and intensify efforts to persuade residents to hand over land in advance to facilitate construction. Investors and construction units also focused maximum machinery and manpower, and sought support from the armed forces to ensure the progress of the projects.

It is expected that the first two schools in Quang Truc and Thuan An will be completed by the end of August 2026. One year later, the projects in Tuy Duc, Thuan Hanh, and Dak Wil will also be put into use. At that time, the sound of school bells and the voices of students reciting lessons will resound in these areas that were once underprivileged.
These new classrooms will continue to ignite dreams and sow the seeds of knowledge in the border regions of our country. More than just projects worth hundreds of billions of dong, building schools in border areas is an investment in people, in the future, and in the lasting peace of the nation, even in the most remote frontiers.
