Recalling their first meeting, Huu Chieu was a student at the Signal Corps Officer School, while Dieu No was a student at Da Lat University. At that time, the Covid-19 pandemic was raging in many places, so learning was primarily online. Through a friend request, they discovered they were both from Quang Tri province and became friends on social media. During the Tet holiday, they coincidentally met at Bich La market (a traditional market held on the night of the second day of the Lunar New Year every year, located in Trieu Phong commune, Quang Tri province).

From their very first meeting, the girl's beautiful, gentle, and charming appearance impressed the student. Not only was she beautiful, but Diệu Nơ also captivated others with her soft, refined way of speaking, making Hữu Chiểu even more eager to get to know her and develop feelings for her. Returning home after the market day, Chiểu was determined to win her over. Taking advantage of his days off, he proactively called and texted her, subtly expressing his interest through humorous and witty stories.

During his leave, Chieu arranged to visit his crush in Da Lat. As they strolled around the campus, Dieu No told her boyfriend countless beautiful stories about life and her dreams and aspirations for the future. At the end of the path, the young man boldly took her hand and confessed: “In the chilly Da Lat and on the windy lecture hall, I realize the warmest thing isn’t my coat, but the feeling of being beside you right now. I don’t promise anything grand, I only hope to walk slowly through life with you, sincerely and loving you with everything I have.” Taken aback by the officer’s unexpected gesture, Dieu No blushed shyly.

Throughout their courtship, their busy study schedules meant they could only occasionally talk on the phone for a few minutes, but they understood each other and their hearts were always drawn to one another. During that time, besides their intense studies in the lecture halls, whenever she had free time, Dieu No conceived the idea and devoted herself to embroidering a bracelet. Inside was the image of a girl in a pristine white ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress), wearing a small, pretty crown, resting her head on the shoulder of a soldier in neat uniform. Their hands clasped, their lips smiling, they sat amidst a dreamy forest of flowers.

Upon receiving this gift from his girlfriend, Huu Chieu was speechless for a long time, overcome with emotion. He understood that this was not just a gift, but also represented the heartfelt feelings, time, patience, and love poured into it. The young couple's love grew stronger with the support of both families. In just a few days, the new year would arrive, and Huu Chieu and Dieu No would tie the knot, building a happy home together.
