'Online Market'

QTO - In the context of the 4.0 revolution and the ever-changing consumer trends, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Minh Hoa commune has implemented the "Online Market" model; thereby contributing to promoting local agricultural products, supporting people in selling their products, and gradually changing traditional buying and selling habits.

In early 2026, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Minh Hoa commune began organizing an "Online Market Fair" model, live-streamed on the fanpage and Facebook page "Minh Hoa Fatherland Front". Before organizing the model, the unit focused on propaganda and script development, such as: posting news, articles, images, and videos introducing products, producers, and broadcast times on the fanpage and Facebook page to create widespread awareness, attract attention, and encourage interaction from a large number of people.

The "Online Market" livestream process was implemented by the organizers in a flexible, visually engaging manner, combining product introductions in person with clear images and explanations about the origin, quality, and price of the products. At the same time, emphasis was placed on interaction, responding to comments, and creating a close and friendly atmosphere between sellers and buyers.

To date, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Minh Hoa commune has organized 3 "Online Market Fairs" in the evenings, attracting nearly 20,000 viewers, over 400 likes, hundreds of comments and shares, and over 120 direct orders totaling nearly 15 million VND. The products sold at the "market" are local agricultural products such as pomelos, oranges, honey, cooking oil, broomsticks, mushrooms, and various types of clean vegetables, all produced by local farmers.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Minh Hoa commune, Dinh Minh Tuan, said: “The purpose of this model is to create an additional channel connecting people with the market, especially for households far from the central area. Initially, many people were unfamiliar with the ‘Online Market’ because they were not used to posting ads, taking photos, or exchanging information with customers online. Therefore, we coordinated with the Youth Union of the commune to directly guide people on how to use smartphones, post products for sale, and exchange information. After a period of implementation, many households have become more proactive in promoting their products.”

The unique feature of the "Online Market" is its community aspect and transparency in buying and selling. Products are publicly posted, and buyers can communicate directly with sellers, thereby building trust and preventing price gouging. Mr. Dinh Van Linh, from Tan Xuan village, Minh Hoa commune, happily shared: "Previously, the agricultural products produced by our villagers were brought to the market for retail sale. Each time, it took a lot of time, and the quantity sold was very small. Since participating in selling through the 'Online Market,' our goods are sold more quickly and in larger quantities."

Mr. Linh's family owns 2,000 square meters of land planted with green pomelos. Previously, he mainly sold pomelos at traditional markets. But since the "Online Market Fair" organized by the commune's Fatherland Front, he has sold nearly 300 pomelos, earning over 6 million VND. Besides supporting local people in selling their goods, the model also makes it easier for consumers to access clean, traceable products right in their local area.

Ms. Tran Thi Huong, a resident of Minh Hoa commune who used to shop at the "Online Market," shared: "I regularly follow this 'market' to buy vegetables, fruits, and honey from the locals. The goods on the 'market' are very fresh, have clear origins, and are reasonably priced, so I and many others buy from them to support them."

Based on the initial success, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Minh Hoa commune is continuing to encourage more households to participate in the "Online Market"; coordinating support for online sales skills, cashless payments, and promoting local OCOP products. "Now, the 'Online Market' is not only a place for buying and selling goods but also contributes to promoting digital transformation in rural areas, helping people in mountainous regions access modern business methods, gradually increasing their income and improving their lives," added Mr. Dinh Minh Tuan.

The "Online Market" model of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Minh Hoa commune has opened up a direction suitable to the local conditions. With smartphones connected to the internet, many agricultural products from local farmers have the opportunity to reach a wider market, sell quickly, and sell in larger quantities. The model also contributes to creating more motivation for farmers to develop production and increase income; at the same time, it helps consumers have more reliable shopping addresses, saving time and effort.
