The 841st Regiment recently conducted a drill simulating the deployment of forces and equipment in a "rapid response" team to fight forest fires. The simulated scenario involved a large fire breaking out in the protected forest of Cam Hung commune (Cam Xuyen district) due to dry weather, strong winds, and dense vegetation. The fire spread rapidly, threatening to completely destroy dozens of hectares of forest, prompting the unit to request immediate reinforcements of personnel, equipment, and vehicles.
Five minutes after the order was given, 30 soldiers from the unit's "frontline mobile force" assembled with full equipment, ready to receive orders. Simultaneously, the regiment's combat, logistics, medical, communications, and specialized vehicle teams also mobilized for the operation. All demonstrated determination, responsibility, and swift action to prevent the wildfire from devastating the forest.

Warehouse K19, under the Logistics and Technical Department, recently conducted a firefighting drill with a simulated scenario: "Several households surrounding the unit were burning straw on a hot day, causing a fire to spread to the ammunition depot area." Following the alarm, various units quickly deployed on-site personnel and fire extinguishers, water pumps, sand, sickles, and tinder to extinguish the flames. Each person had a specific task, but all actions were swift, efficient, and coordinated effectively, resulting in the fire being quickly brought under control.
Captain Nguyen Duy Giang, Head of Warehouse K19, said: “Our unit has a highly specialized nature regarding the risk of fire and explosions, ensuring the safety of weapons and ammunition. Therefore, organizing training in handling fire-fighting situations helps officers and staff master the procedures, coordination, and cooperation between forces, as well as the tasks of each department and individual when a situation occurs. Thanks to this, over the years, we have always ensured absolute safety from fire and explosions.”

To proactively prevent wildfires, in addition to developing response scenarios for specific situations, the Provincial Military Command has also directed agencies and units to establish mobile forces to lead the charge everywhere. Accordingly, for regular army agencies and units, the forces include the 2nd Infantry Battalion (841st Regiment), the Mechanized Reconnaissance Company, the Engineering Company, and the Medical Team of the Clinic. For district-level units, the mobile militia platoons and reserve mobilization battalions of the district are used; for commune-level units, the mobile militia platoons of the commune serve as the core.
The leading mobile force consists of officers and soldiers with good physical fitness, endurance, and skills in responding to and handling emergency situations. These soldiers are thoroughly trained in fire and explosion response skills and are capable of rapid deployment, mastering all situations, and are fully equipped with specialized equipment (blowers, protective gear, gas masks, fire extinguishers, communication equipment, etc.) to respond to any situation. They are also considered the core force in spreading the spirit of "Every officer and soldier in the provincial armed forces is a pioneering and leading force in fire prevention, control, and rescue operations."

Proactive planning and avoiding being caught off guard when a fire threatens is the overarching goal and guiding principle in fire prevention and control within the provincial armed forces. To effectively carry out this task, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command have directed relevant agencies to strengthen inspections and ensure the safety of barracks, requiring comprehensive fire prevention measures ranging from propaganda and training to periodic inspections and practical actions. In particular, higher safety standards are required at stations, workshops, warehouses, gas stations, kitchens, and other flammable areas; firefighting forces must be deployed in shifts, inspected hourly, and fully documented in the duty logbook.
Colonel Hoang Anh Tu, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command, stated: “With the goal of minimizing the risk of fire and explosions, the Provincial Military Command has directed agencies and units to proactively inspect, review, and finalize preparation plans, ensuring sufficient personnel, vehicles, and equipment are available to effectively handle any situation. This contributes to maintaining safety for personnel, barracks, warehouses, weapons, and equipment, thereby enhancing the combat strength of the entire force.”
