President Luong Cuong is about to visit Laos.

The special friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos have been continuously strengthened and consolidated through visits, meetings, and contacts at high levels and other levels.

During meetings and contacts, high-ranking leaders of both countries agreed to continue strengthening and consolidating the special political and trusting relationship; and to cooperate in security and defense to ensure security, order, and social safety.

Both sides also agreed to strengthen comprehensive connectivity between the two economies , especially in infrastructure, transportation, investment, and tourism; and to promote cooperation in other fields such as education and training, culture, science and technology, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

During a recent meeting with Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, President Luong Cuong affirmed the consistent and unwavering policy of the Vietnamese Party and State to always attach great importance and give the highest priority to developing the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The two leaders emphasized that the tradition of good relations between the two countries, built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and President Souphanouvong, and subsequent generations of leaders of both countries, including the late Party Chairman and President Khamtay Siphandone, will live on through time.

The two leaders expressed pleasure at the significant achievements in bilateral relations over the past period, particularly in strengthening political trust, tightening security and defense cooperation, resolving obstacles, promoting economic cooperation, and diversifying and enriching local exchanges.

Both sides emphasized the importance of actively coordinating and organizing major commemorative activities of the two countries in 2025, thereby contributing to enhancing understanding among the younger generation, fostering traditions, promoting solidarity and close ties, and further developing the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
