This evening, January 3rd, at the Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri province, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Quang Tri Radio and Television Station, and the Provincial Red Cross Society jointly organized the "Joining Hands in Compassion" program in Quang Tri province for the Spring of the Year of the Snake - 2025.

Speaking at the program, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri province, Dao Manh Hung, emphasized: For the past 20 years, every time Tet (Lunar New Year) comes around, the "Joining Hands in Compassion - Tet for the Poor" program has received generous contributions from agencies, units, armed forces, businesses, international organizations, charitable and humanitarian organizations, Quang Tri hometown associations, and philanthropists inside and outside the province.
Continuing the compassion and responsibility of society towards those in difficult circumstances, the "Joining Hands in Compassion" program for the Spring of the Year of the Snake - 2025 has been amplified with a more humane mission: responding to the call to join hands in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025, launched by the Prime Minister .
Over the past five years, through the joint efforts of organizations and individuals inside and outside the province via the "Connecting Hands of Compassion" program and the "Fund for the Poor," Quang Tri province has supported the construction of 1,860 new houses for poor households, donated over 335 Tet gifts, 21,000 warm jackets for children in mountainous areas, and many other practical gifts for victims of Agent Orange, people with disabilities, orphans, families affected by natural disasters and epidemics, and those facing difficult circumstances... with a total value of over 310 billion VND.

Currently, the province still has about 4,000 temporary and dilapidated houses that need to be rebuilt. The province is determined to achieve the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing for poor households and people with meritorious services in the province by August 2025.
To continue providing better care for the poor, with a focus on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front call on cadres, Party members, workers in agencies, organizations, units, and armed forces in the province, the business community, and all citizens to join hands and contribute to eliminating all temporary and dilapidated houses for disadvantaged policy beneficiary families, poor households, and near-poor households.
The guiding principle is "Everyone should help in whatever way they can, whether they have resources or labor, whether they have much or little," to create immense solidarity and support for the poor and those in difficult circumstances, ensuring that no one is left behind in this era of national progress.

On this occasion, the organizing committee presented 15 solidarity houses (70 million VND for houses in mountainous areas, 60 million VND for houses in the plains) and Tet gifts to 15 families facing housing difficulties; and gave 20 gift packages to poor families.
In addition to the households receiving gifts directly at the program, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province will coordinate with sponsoring units and localities to review and select other disadvantaged households to receive Tet gifts in person before the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake - 2025.
According to compiled data, by the end of the program, the organizing committee had received numerous gifts and financial support from charitable organizations and individuals inside and outside the province, totaling approximately 170 billion VND and 30,000 Tet gifts for the poor.

Within the framework of the "Joining Hands in Compassion" program for the Spring of the Year of the Snake - 2025, delegates and citizens enjoyed a spectacular and impressive artistic program, meticulously staged, featuring many beautiful songs about homeland, country, spring, and human relationships... performed by singers: Van Khanh, Cap Anh Tai, Nhu Hai Yen, Xuan Hao, Bach Tra..., the Quang Tri Provincial Traditional Art Troupe, and The Queen Dance Troupe.
