Movement at the starting point
The Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven's Gate route is a unique combination of cultural heritage and natural landscapes. Hoi An represents an ancient riverside urban space with cultural, architectural, and historical values of a former trading port.
My Son symbolizes the spiritual and artistic heritage of an ancient dynasty in a sacred valley setting. Dong Giang, on the other hand, opens up the wild natural landscape of the Truong Son mountain range, where the indigenous Co Tu culture blends with the mountains and forests.
Three destinations, three distinct yet complementary characteristics, form a continuous journey from the plains to the mountains, from the past to the present, promising visitors a wide range of emotions as they explore Quang Nam province.
Therefore, the development of this unique tourist route continues after the administrative reorganization. Recently, FVG Group held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Fivires Nam Hoi An Resort and Fivitel Nam Hoi An Hotel Project, with an investment of approximately 750 billion VND.
These two projects, located downstream of the Thu Bon River – a waterway connecting the heritage of Quang Nam province – are important drivers for FVG's goal of attracting 2 million overnight visitors along this route.
According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FVG Group, this project is located at the starting point of the heritage route connecting Hoi An - My Son and Dong Giang Heaven's Gate.
“This is the starting point of the dedicated bus route connecting Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven's Gate. At the same time, there is a boat dock that takes tourists upstream on the Thu Bon River to explore nearby attractions in Hoi An ancient town, as well as from Hoi An to My Son.”
"This location creates a perfect hub connecting road, waterway, and in the future, rail transport systems, opening the door to welcome tourists to explore the unique culture of Quang Nam province," said Mr. Nguyen Anh Tan.
Improve products, attract investment.
In the future, FVG Group is committed to developing a unique ecosystem of nighttime services and arts and culture to attract and retain tourists.
Highlights include a night market featuring local produce, scenic boat tours on the Thu Bon River in southern Hoi An, and unique shows such as the "Champa Dance" at My Son and the "Dance of the Great Forest" at Dong Giang Heaven's Gate.
This process will involve close interaction with the community to improve the lives of local people through community-based tourism, laying a solid foundation for green, sustainable tourism and leveraging the unique strengths of each locality.
Mr. Phan Thai Binh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, believes that this is an innovative approach that helps increase the value of tourism consumption and improve the livelihoods of local people along the route.
"In the coming period, the city will continue to promote the completion of connecting transportation infrastructure to form a seamless and attractive tourism chain along the route."
Da Nang will also improve its investment environment to be more open and transparent, encouraging more projects that link business interests with the community to enhance the brand of this tourist route,” said Mr. Phan Thai Binh.
According to a representative from Vietravel, relevant parties need to cooperate to develop attractive multi-route tourism products by designing themed tour packages that exploit the unique cultural and natural depth along the route.
For example, the tour includes "A Fairytale Night in Hoi An - A Magical Sunrise at My Son - A Co Tu Cultural Festival in Dong Giang". Each leg of the journey features unique interactive activities linked to the characteristics of each destination.
But it's necessary to build a cohesive narrative throughout the journey to help tourists feel connected to and understand the meaning of the trip.
