Stories of Heroes

Throughout the nation's struggle for independence and freedom, there have been many examples of brave and resilient soldiers who were ready to sacrifice themselves on the battlefield. Among the heroes who contributed to the nation's glorious victory are two sons of Vinh Phuc : Tran Kim Xuan, Hero of the People's Armed Forces.   and Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Quang Loc.

In the home of People's Armed Forces Hero Tran Kim Xuan, in Dinh Chu commune, Lap Thach district, alongside the prestigious titles bestowed upon him by the Party, State, and Government , there is always a corner dedicated to special war relics. Formerly the Battalion Commander of Battalion 93, Engineering Command, Hero Tran Kim Xuan directly defused 38,000 bombs, mines, and explosive materials during the resistance war. Returning amidst the precarious balance of life and death, the former hero remains optimistic, shining with the qualities of a "Soldier of Uncle Ho."

The war has receded into the past, but the memories of the time when "We marched across the Truong Son Mountains to save the country" remain vivid in the mind of Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Quang Loc - the man who directly shot down 5 enemy aircraft in the nation's historic battles. Perhaps the greatest honor and pride of this former air defense soldier was the victory of shooting down an aircraft carrying many advisors and high-ranking commanders of the South Vietnamese army over Saigon just before the complete victory on April 30th.

During the nation's arduous war, countless lives were lost and sacrifices were made by previous generations. These immense sacrifices contributed to writing the glorious history of the heroic Vietnamese People's Army, enabling the country to achieve independence, freedom, and happiness as it enjoys today.
