Ho Chi Minh City Police Club is full of enthusiasm

Ho Chi Minh City Police Club has brought in an experienced coaching staff and a squad of highly qualified players.

After changing its name, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club (formerly Ho Chi Minh City Club) actively recruited players and trained hard, aiming to enter the top 3 of V-League 2025 - 2026 as well as achieve high results in the new season's National Cup.

Successfully recruited veteran strategist

Not only retaining the old coaching staff, the Thong Nhat Stadium team has successfully recruited veteran strategist Le Huynh Duc. While still playing, the former Vietnam national team striker was a legend of the HCM City Police Club, scoring 60 goals in 86 appearances for the police team from 1995 to 2000.

At the peak of his career, Mr. Le Huynh Duc contributed to helping the HCM City Police Club win the national championship, winning the Vietnam Golden Ball three times in 1995, 1997, 2002, and was the top scorer in domestic tournaments. In addition, Le Huynh Duc is also the player who holds the record for participating in 5 consecutive Tiger Cups (now ASEAN Cups) (1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004).

Having a chance to become a coach, the legend born in 1972 has achieved many successes when leading Da Nang Club. During his golden period, Mr. Duc contributed greatly to bringing the Han River team to the top position in domestic football, with the V-League championship (2009, 2012), V-League runner-up 2013, V-League 3rd place (2011, 2016) and winning the National Cup 2009.

However, when moving to the South, Coach Le Huynh Duc could not bring success when holding Saigon FC in the role of Technical Director in the 2021 V-League season, Coach of Binh Duong Club (now Becamex TP HCM) in the 2023 - 2024 season.

Returning to the "holy land" of Thong Nhat, the 53-year-old strategist is expected by Ho Chi Minh City football fans to help the home team rebuild its beautiful total attack football identity, bringing the Ho Chi Minh City CA Club back to the top position on the map of Vietnamese football.

In recent friendly matches, Coach Le Huynh Duc also personally trained and instructed the players of CA TP HCM Club. He also advised the board of directors to bring in many stars with high professional quality to serve the new season.

Star-studded cast

Besides new coach Le Huynh Duc, the core force of CA TP HCM Club is also strengthened by many national players such as: striker Nguyen Tien Linh, midfielder Pham Duc Huy, Endrick dos Santos (Malaysian player), Nguyen Duc Phu, Dang Van Lam and Le Quang Hung.

Standing out among them, Tien Linh is the leading star of the domestic league, in the top 3 strikers with the most goalscoring efficiency in V-League 2024 - 2025 with 13 goals. The current Vietnamese Golden Ball not only contributed greatly to helping the national team win the ASEAN Cup 2024 but also became the second highest scorer in the tournament.

Last season, Ho Chi Minh City FC (now Ho Chi Minh City CA FC) struggled to stay in the league because their attack was not sharp and their foreign players were "silent" in the V-League. Therefore, the presence of Tien Linh this season will help coach Le Huynh Duc's team solve the problem of attacking.

Saying goodbye to many players after the 2024 - 2025 season, CA TP HCM Club still retains important pillars in the main frame in the new season, including goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang, defender Vo Huy Toan, center back Tran Hoang Phuc or midfielder Nguyen Thai Quoc Cuong...

In addition, standing side by side with coach Le Huynh Duc on the coaching bench are familiar colleagues, "old men" of the "red battleship", including: assistant coaches Phung Thanh Phuong, Hoang Hung and Chau Tri Cuong.
