CMC Telecom is the telecommunications company with the highest fixed broadband speeds, while VNPT is the network provider with the best mobile broadband internet quality in April 2024.
The Department of Telecommunications ( Ministry of Information and Communications ) has just released information on Internet access service speeds by province and city, based on the i-Speed Internet access speed measurement system developed by the Vietnam Internet Center (VNNIC). Specifically, nationwide, the average download speed for fixed broadband in April 2024 was recorded at 106.43 Mbps, and the average upload speed for fixed broadband reached 103.28 Mbps. Regarding mobile broadband internet quality, in April 2024, the average download speed in Vietnam was recorded at 41.58 Mbps, and the average upload speed was 18.28 Mbps.
This is the first time the Ministry of Information and Communications has published the service quality of each enterprise. Accordingly, in April 2024, CMC Telecom was the telecommunications enterprise with the highest fixed broadband speed. The average download and upload speeds of CMC Telecom's fixed broadband were 254.88 Mbps and 176.97 Mbps, respectively.
Following closely behind CMC Telecom in terms of fixed broadband quality is VNPT, with average download and upload speeds of 99.45 Mbps and 100.62 Mbps respectively. Next isFPT Telecom with a download speed of 96.88 Mbps and an upload speed of 95.87 Mbps. The remaining positions are held by Viettel, Netnam, SCTV, and SPT.
VNPT was the mobile broadband internet provider with the best quality in April 2024. Statistics show that VNPT's mobile broadband internet download speed reached 44.88 Mbps, and its mobile broadband upload speed reached 20.66 Mbps.
Meanwhile, Viettel ranked second in mobile internet with a download speed of 43.9 Mbps and an upload speed of 14.82 Mbps. MobiFone ranked third with a download speed of 30.99 Mbps and an upload speed of 18.66 Mbps. Vietnamobile ranked fourth with a download speed of 7.15 Mbps and an upload speed of 3 Mbps. According to the Telecommunications Authority, publishing data on internet access speeds aims to enhance transparency and public benefit in service provision. The published results also allow individuals/organizations/businesses to choose services and network providers according to their needs and actual conditions. This activity also improves the efficiency of management based on actual data, contributing to the development and improvement of internet access service quality in Vietnam. The Telecommunications Authority recommends that individuals/organizations/businesses regularly use the i-Speed application to measure their internet access speed. Using the i-Speed measurement application is completely free and does not incur any data charges.
