An opportunity for hearing-impaired candidates to continue pursuing their dreams.

(Dong Nai) - Based on Circular 06/2025 amending the Regulations on university and college-level admissions for early childhood education in 2025 issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, which amends the regulations on admissions for candidates with disabilities, Dong Nai University has organized admissions for severely disabled candidates in the 2025 admissions period.

After learning that Dong Nai University was recruiting students for its Elementary Teacher Training program for hearing-impaired students, Nguyen Huynh Tuan Anh, a former student of the Teacher Training Practice High School (affiliated with Dong Nai University), quickly applied for admission. He was overjoyed to receive his acceptance letter.

Tuan Anh said: "After graduating from high school, I was very worried about what I would do because my previous education program didn't include any vocational training. Therefore, when Dong Nai University organized the recruitment for the Primary Education Teacher Training program, I applied because it was an opportunity for me to make my dream come true and become a teacher for students with disabilities."

For many years, Dong Nai University has been organizing classes from elementary to college level for hearing-impaired students. However, due to certain regulations, the university had to temporarily suspend these programs starting in 2023.

Recently, based on Circular 06 of the Ministry of Education and Training on amending and supplementing some articles of the Regulations on university and college admissions for the Early Childhood Education ngành (issued on March 19, 2025), Dong Nai University has been admitting students with disabilities through direct admission. To date, 20 hearing-impaired students have met the requirements and been admitted to the Primary Education Teacher Training program. This is also a continuation of the success from the Deaf Education project of the Center for Research and Promotion of Deaf Culture (under Dong Nai University), implemented since 2014.

Dr. Vo Van Ly, Vice Rector of Dong Nai University, said: "Because we have been implementing educational programs for hearing-impaired students for many years, the university has favorable conditions in terms of facilities. Approximately 30% of our faculty are currently able to teach using sign language. Those who are not yet able to do so will be assigned to provide translation services."

Dong Nai University is currently the first and only institution in the country to offer a full-time undergraduate education program in pedagogy for the hearing impaired. Organizing these classes specifically for people with disabilities is a significant effort by the university, providing motivation for the hearing impaired to overcome their circumstances, develop themselves, and pursue and realize their dreams.
