
At the close of trading, the VN-Index rose 13.32 points to 1,750 points; the HNX-Index increased 0.93 points to 251.91 points. The market favored buyers with 430 gainers and 350 losers; the VN30 basket recorded 20 gainers, 6 losers, and 4 unchanged stocks.
Following the overall positive market trend, all oil and gas stocks surged. At the close of trading on April 10th, PVE and BSR hit their upper limit; PEQ rose 13.29%, PTV 9.26%, OIL 7.04%, PVS 5.6%, PVD 4.63%, PVC 4.24%, PLX 4.18%, TOS 4.05%, PVB 3.16%, and POS 1.95%.
Market liquidity decreased compared to the previous session, with trading volume on HOSE reaching over 855 million shares, equivalent to a value of over 22,000 billion VND; HNX reached over 82.4 million shares, with a value of over 1.5 trillion VND.
The VN-Index opened the afternoon session with a tug-of-war as selling pressure reappeared, narrowing the gains. However, buying pressure prevailed, helping the index maintain its positive momentum until the end of the session. VIC, TCB, BSR, and GAS were the positive contributors, helping the index rise by approximately 9.4 points; conversely, VHM, BVH, HPG, andFPT had a negative impact, deducting more than 1.9 points.
The HNX-Index also performed well, supported by PVS (up 5.6%), DHT (up 9.81%), NVB (up 1.83%), and PTI (up 7.97%).
By sector, the energy group led the market with a 5.57% increase. Following closely were the utilities and media services groups, rising 1.18% and 1.09% respectively; some notable stocks included GAS (up 2.93%), REE (up 0.46%), QTP (up 1.56%), CNG (up 2.23%), NT2 (up 1.95%), VGI (up 1.52%), YEG (up 3.5%), and GLT (up 10%).
Foreign investor activity was also a bright spot, with foreign investors net buying over 839 billion VND on the HOSE, focusing on TCB, HPG, MBB, and VNM. On the HNX, foreign investors net bought over 24 billion VND, mainly in PVS, PVI, NTP, and PLC.
At the close of trading, most sectors were in the green; with oil and energy stocks playing a leading role, further reinforcing positive investor sentiment.
