DGC's stock price over the past year - Data: Trading View
The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) has decided to move the shares of Duc Giang Chemical Group Joint Stock Company (DGC) from the controlled category to the restricted trading category effective May 26th.
According to an announcement from HoSE, DGC shares have been placed under trading restrictions because the company submitted its audited financial statements for 2025 more than 45 days after the deadline.
This is a case where securities are subject to trading restrictions according to the Regulations on Listing and Trading of Listed Securities issued with Decision No. 22 dated March 16 by the Board of Members of the Vietnam Stock Exchange.
Accordingly, from May 26th, DGC shares will only be traded in the afternoon session through centralized order matching and negotiated transactions.
This means investors will not be able to buy or sell DGC shares during the morning session as usual. For example, if they want to place a buy or sell order for DGC shares, investors can only do so from the beginning of the afternoon session instead of trading throughout the day.
Previously, on May 6th, HoSE announced its decision to move DGC shares from the warning category to the control category, effective from May 13th, due to the company's failure to submit its audited financial statements for 2025 by more than 30 days compared to the regulations.
By May 14th, Duc Giang Chemicals had submitted a written explanation to HoSE regarding the measures and roadmap for rectifying the situation.
The company stated that on May 8th, the Board of Directors passed a resolution selecting UHY Auditing and Consulting Company Limited as the auditor for the 2025 financial statements. The two parties signed the audit contract on May 11th.
According to the company, the auditing process is being carried out urgently, and the company will coordinate with the auditing firm to promptly release the audited financial statements. DGC expects to complete and publish the audited financial statements for 2025 in the second quarter of 2026.
The placement of the stock under control also led to a series of changes in the indices. Specifically, DGC was removed from the VN30 basket from May 13th and replaced by BSR stock of Vietnam Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation.
Besides VN30, this stock has also been excluded from other indices such as VN100, VNAllshare, VNMITECH, and VN50 Growth.
At the annual general meeting held on May 8th, many shareholders expressed concerns about their shares being placed under control.
Mr. Luu Bach Dat - Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of DGC - acknowledged that the company had shortcomings in governance and legal compliance in the past.
"This is a lesson we must learn deeply. The new Board of Directors is committed to resolving all outstanding legal issues within the group to ensure that similar situations do not occur in the future," Mr. Dat said.
On the stock market, as of the morning of May 20th, DGC shares were trading around 50,500 VND per share, down more than 26% from the beginning of the year. The company's market capitalization is currently around 19,100 billion VND.
