In the context of a stock market that has not seen many breakthroughs, Mr. Le Duc Khanh, Director of Analysis at VPS Securities Company, said that investors may not be satisfied with the modest increase of the VN-Index since the beginning of the year.

However, during the past November and December, especially since the explosive trading session on December 5th, we can see that the market has confirmed its deepest bottom area at 1,200 – 1,240 points, and experienced professional investors have foreseen an upward trend from now until the end of the year.

In 2025, with trends and catalysts such as GDP prospects, import and export figures, and the prospect of market upgrade, investors can expect the stock market to be more positive, not just growing by 10-12%, but even more so. Mr. Khanh assessed that, even at the present time, investors can focus on accumulating high-quality stocks, those prioritized with positive business results. This is a good time to accumulate stocks and also offers more opportunities for short-term trading.

However, VPS experts also note that the market will not rise continuously and may not be as optimistic as we think, but may rise in stages with periods of correction. Therefore, flexible trading is essential.

Flexibility in the proportion of short-term and long-term purchases is also a viewpoint of professional investment funds. Investors aim for value investing methods, but at certain times, we also need to pay attention to stocks with short-term volatility. For example, speculative stocks that lead the market (securities sector), cyclical sectors such as chemicals, steel, and oil and gas. Or sectors undergoing restructuring, with exceptional business results and high projections, will also experience rapid fluctuations.

Sharing a positive outlook on the stock market, Mr. Nguyen Viet Duc, Director of Digital Business at VPBank Securities Joint Stock Company (VPBankS), stated that VPBankS also has positive confidence in the stock market in 2025.

"Long-term stock investment isn't difficult if you filter out leading companies with good criteria like ROE above 15%. As for short-term stock investment, there are only two important factors: firstly, policy, and secondly, market trends," Mr. Duc shared.

Sharing their views on promising investment sectors in 2025, VPBankS experts place their expectations on four groups of stocks. Firstly, the energy and oil and gas sector, considered a defensive and safe sector. Next are the real estate, retail, and banking sectors.

From the perspective of a fund management company, Mr. Le Quang Hung - Senior Director of Investment Analysis at Techcom Capital Joint Stock Company - emphasizes the importance of risk management in investment.

Mr. Hung believes that the current market valuation is quite reasonable for long-term investment, especially as investors expect growth in the coming year with the more attractive P/E ratio of the Vietnamese market. Besides stocks, investment allocation can also include fixed-income assets such as bonds, deposits, and certificates of deposit.

According to Mr. Hung, the bond market will provide a stable source of income that investors can consider. Mr. Hung believes this investment channel will develop well in 2025, especially after the market experienced significant fluctuations in 2023. Furthermore, recent policies and laws have introduced regulations related to the bond market to increase transparency and protect investors. This is crucial for the sustainable development of the bond market. Currently, corporate bonds are gradually regaining investor confidence.

Meanwhile, Trinh Ha, a strategist from Exness Investment Bank, has a positive assessment of new asset classes such as cryptocurrencies.

This expert believes that, Today's youth have easier access to new technologies and greater investment knowledge. Instead of investing in index funds, they have clearer investment options in asset classes such as stocks, bonds, gold, or various currencies. With the recent volatility in the cryptocurrency market, young people are experiencing rapid wealth growth. A large portion of this growth comes from their cryptocurrency holdings, accounting for approximately 35-36%, combined with stocks, especially technology stocks.
