The Catalans’ collapse at Stamford Bridge has been met with harsh criticism in the Spanish media, with Mundo Deportivo describing Barca as “unrecognizable”, insisting the team “suffered a complete knockout” and even suggesting Chelsea could have won by a bigger margin.
AS called it a “nightmare” for stars like Marcus Rashford and Lamine Yamal, who both had lackluster performances. The newspaper also said Barcelona “got themselves into trouble” and created a disastrous match after center-back Ronald Araujo received a red card.

In the scoring section, a series of Barca players received very low ratings. Yamal alone received only 4 points in his first time playing in England. The 18-year-old talent was blocked by defender Marc Cucurella and had to leave the field amid boos from the stands.
Sport commented that Yamal "started brightly but quickly faded, became isolated and almost disappeared on the field".
Meanwhile, Rashford was also underrated after coming off the bench. Sport said the former MU striker “failed to make an impact” and became lost in both attack and defense.
Notably, the newspapers all mentioned Barca's disappointing 15th place in the Champions League standings. Yamal and his teammates have only won 7 points, 2 points behind the group that will go straight to the knockout round.
