Ba Ria Provincial Police

On February 28th, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Police Department held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Minister of Public Security regarding organizational structure and the decision of the Provincial Police Director regarding personnel matters.

At the announcement ceremony, Colonel Vu Nhu Ha, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Police, stated that the Provincial Police have proactively and actively advised and closely coordinated with relevant departments and agencies to prepare the conditions to receive five groups of tasks from various departments and agencies.

With many new assignments being given, the leaders of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police Department issued 45 decisions to transfer and assign 45 officers at the level of heads and deputy heads of police departments in districts, towns, and cities to new positions in provincial police departments, commune police, and units under the provincial police.

At the Announcement Ceremony, the Director of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Police also presented retirement decisions effective March 1, 2025, to nine officers from the Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency; the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order; the Party Committee's Inspection Committee; the Criminal Technical Department; Vung Tau City Police; the Mobile Police Department; the Technical Operations Department; the Drug Crime Investigation Department; and the Ba Ria City Police.

On the same day, February 28th, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province held a ceremony to transfer functions and responsibilities from various departments to the Provincial Police Department.

These tasks include: state management and implementation of aviation security; state management of cybersecurity; state management of testing and issuance of motor vehicle driver's licenses; state management of criminal records and provision of public services for issuing criminal record certificates; state management of drug addiction treatment and post-treatment management;...

After taking over, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police will unify management, overcome the fragmented situation where one task is handled by multiple agencies; reduce coordination mechanisms;... Thereby, improving the quality and efficiency of work, providing the best and fastest service to the people and businesses in the area.

With thorough preparation and the highest sense of responsibility, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Police are ready to implement the new, effective model starting from March 1, 2025. In addition, there will be no district-level police forces in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province; the operations of 7 district-level police forces and 67 team-level units under those district-level police forces will be terminated.

The new organizational structure of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Police includes 26 departmental-level units, 77 commune-level police stations, and 2 police posts.
