Tuyen Quang police are collecting DNA samples from relatives of unidentified fallen soldiers.

NDO - Starting May 6th, the Tuyen Quang Provincial Police, in coordination with the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, Ministry of Public Security, Genestory Company (testing unit), the Department of Internal Affairs, the People's Committees of districts and cities; and the People's Committees of communes, wards, and towns, will organize the collection of DNA samples from Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, mothers of martyrs, and relatives of martyrs whose identities have not been determined in the province.

Over the past period, the Provincial Police have coordinated with relevant units to survey, collect, and update information on 4,257 martyrs and their relatives in the province; of which 2,673 martyrs have not yet had their graves identified.

At the program launch, the Provincial Police organized the collection of DNA samples from 93 relatives of fallen soldiers. Of these, 16 elderly mothers of fallen soldiers who were unable to come to the sample collection site had their samples taken at their homes by the task force.

Police officers in Tuyen Quang province went to the homes of elderly and frail mothers of fallen soldiers to collect samples.

Sharing his thoughts on this meaningful humanitarian activity, Colonel Do Tien Thuy, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, emphasized that, as the permanent agency implementing the plan, the Provincial Police hopes to continue receiving the attention and guidance of the Provincial People's Committee; and the cooperation of relevant units, localities, agencies, and businesses to synchronously and effectively carry out the activity of collecting DNA samples for relatives and families of unidentified martyrs in the province.

On this occasion, the Provincial Police presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, mothers of martyrs, and relatives of martyrs whose identities have not been determined, who participated in the sample collection.
