Amidst the strong digital transformation taking place across all sectors, digital technology fields are becoming a prominent choice for the 2026 college admissions season.
From artificial intelligence, data science, software technology, and cybersecurity to technology applications in business, education , healthcare, and media, this field is opening up many attractive career opportunities for students.
However, with the rapid development of technology, many students are still hesitant in choosing a suitable field of study, and do not fully understand the differences between specific majors.
To provide accurate information and diverse perspectives for candidates, the Education and Times Newspaper is organizing an online admissions counseling program with the theme "Digital Technology: The Industry Group Leading the Future of Employment in 2026".
The guests participating in the program included: Mr. Nguyen Duy Tien, M.Sc. - Head of Admissions and Student Affairs Department, Ho Chi Minh City College of Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Tan Hiep - Head of International Cooperation Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, M.Sc. - Deputy Head of Admissions, Communications & Corporate Relations Department, University of Finance - Marketing.
Also participating were Dr. Nguyen Tuan Cuong - Lecturer in Information Systems and Data Science , Vietnamese-German University; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu Anh - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Information Technology, Van Hien University.
During the program, speakers will share information about training programs, admission methods, and the differences between various digital technology majors at different universities.
In addition, through practical examples and recruitment needs from businesses, students will gain a clearer understanding of career trends, necessary skills, and future job opportunities.
Speaking at the event, journalist Nguyen Anh Tu, Deputy Head of the Education and Times Newspaper's Ho Chi Minh City bureau, remarked that digital technology has transcended the realm of mere trends to become a core foundation driving the development of almost all fields.
According to him, to avoid falling behind, students need to proactively set career goals early, choose fields of study that suit their abilities and current trends, and continuously hone their digital skills and adaptability in the context of a constantly changing labor market.
The program will take place from 9:00 AM on May 7, 2026, on the online edition of the Education and Times Newspaper.
