After receiving assistance from the police, the elderly man got into a car to return home to his family (Photo: Minh Thien).
During the initial conversation, he only remembered his name as "Van" and couldn't recall where he lived. In this situation, the Binh Duc commune police quickly arranged for him to rest and receive medical care, while immediately implementing measures to verify his identity.
Realizing that the elderly man was not a local resident and likely lived in a neighboring area, the commune police proactively posted information and images on social media and community forums.
Thanks to the widespread reach of social media and the responsible spirit of the police force, in just over two hours, the Binh Duc Commune Police received a call from Ms. Le Thi Yen Anh, residing in Ben Luc Commune, Tay Ninh Province. Ms. Yen Anh confirmed that she was the daughter of the elderly man and said that her family was very worried because her father had left home that morning and his whereabouts were unknown, and they were searching for him.
Immediately afterwards, Ms. Yen Anh quickly went to the Binh Duc Commune Police Station, bringing her own identification documents and those of her father to prove their relationship. After thorough verification, the police handed the elderly man over to his family, much to their joy of reunion.
Ms. Yen Anh was deeply moved and expressed her gratitude for the support and assistance from the police when her father went missing.
