Voters in Thai Nguyen province have shown strong support for the proposed restructuring of communes and provincial-level administrations.

NDO - In an atmosphere of democracy, unity, seriousness, high responsibility, and trust in the policies of the Party and the State, on April 18th and 19th, voters representing households in Thai Nguyen province enthusiastically went to the polls, showing very high agreement with the plan to rearrange commune-level administrative units and merge the two provinces of Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen.

The plan to reorganize the commune-level administrative units of Thai Nguyen province will reduce the number of communes, wards, and towns from 172 to 55; the plan also includes merging Bac Kan province and Thai Nguyen province into Thai Nguyen province, with the administrative and political center located in the current Thai Nguyen city.

According to Nguyen Quoc Huu, Director of the Department of Internal Affairs of Thai Nguyen province, after nearly two days of collecting opinions from voters representing households in the province, most voters agree with the plan to rearrange commune-level administrative units and merge the two provinces of Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen; in particular, 100% of voters in many localities have expressed their agreement.

According to voters in many localities, although the timeframe was short, the plan for reorganizing the province's administrative units was developed urgently, rationally, and in accordance with geography, history, and customs, creating a large space for development and linkages.

Local authorities organized the voter consultation process in a systematic manner, ensuring the most favorable conditions for citizens to cast their votes and exercise their rights and responsibilities. Thai Nguyen province implemented plans to ensure security, order, and social safety in all areas.

With an overwhelming majority of voters agreeing with the plan to reorganize commune-level administrative units and merge the two provinces of Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen, it shows that Thai Nguyen province's propaganda work has been widely implemented, and the people have absolute trust in the leadership of the Party, the State, and the local Party committee and government.

According to the head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Thai Nguyen province, immediately after the voter consultation process concludes, they will compile and evaluate the feedback, report to the competent authorities, and advise on and organize the implementation of the next steps according to the procedure for rearranging commune-level administrative units and merging the two provinces of Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen in the near future.
