Earlier, at 7:00 AM on September 17th, the Thriving 16 vessel departed to transport passengers from Rach Gia Port to Bai Vong Port in Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone. At 9:30 AM, two men were spotted drifting at sea. Captain Le Van Nhien turned the ship around to rescue the two victims before continuing the journey.
At 7:55 AM on the same day, the Supedong ship departed from Rach Gia Port for Bai Vong Port. Around 9:30 AM, two people (one male, one female) were spotted drifting at sea. Captain Cu Hai Ha turned the ship around to rescue the two victims, then continued the journey.
At 10:30 AM and 10:50 AM on the same day, the captains of the two vessels completed the procedures to hand over the four victims to the border guard forces. According to the four victims, they were squid fishing at sea when they encountered strong waves and winds, causing their boat to sink. After receiving medical care, all four were in stable condition.
The An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command directed its units to monitor the incident and coordinate the resolution of related issues. The Board of Directors of Thanh Thoi One-Member Limited Liability Company and some passengers donated 18 million VND to the four victims…
