Mr. Nguyen Van Thuc, Chairman of the Veterans Association of the commune, said: The association currently has 451 members, operating in 14 branches. To ensure that the study and emulation of President Ho Chi Minh's teachings are carried out systematically, the association has organized thematic study sessions annually, thoroughly disseminating the contents of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style, concretizing and building ethical standards based on President Ho Chi Minh's example in a concise, easy-to-remember, and easy-to-understand manner, suitable to the characteristics and tasks of each branch. At the same time, it directs members to register to follow President Ho Chi Minh's teachings through specific actions, focusing on closely following the "National Unity Campaign for Building New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" in the locality, and the "Veterans Helping Each Other Develop the Economy " emulation movement...

One of the practical activities related to learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's example, implemented by the Veterans Association of the commune, is the establishment of a model of effective mass mobilization at 100% of its branches. Each branch that establishes this model will focus on a specific task in implementing effective mass mobilization.

For example, the Tam Van branch effectively implemented a model of skillful mass mobilization linked to the construction of new rural areas through specific activities and actions such as disseminating information and mobilizing members and veterans to donate land, contribute funds, and provide labor for the construction, repair, and purchase of cultural center equipment, expanding transportation routes, launching environmental sanitation campaigns, and guiding people to collect and sort household waste before transporting it to centralized processing facilities.

Since the beginning of the year, the branch association has mobilized its members and veterans to donate over 500 square meters of land and structures on the land to upgrade and expand transportation routes in the area. They have also organized clean-up campaigns, sweeping village roads and alleys, attracting dozens of members and local people to participate. The concrete actions of the Tam Van Veterans Association branch association have made a positive contribution to the new rural development process in the locality.

Implementing the "Veterans Helping Each Other Develop the Economy" movement, the commune's Veterans Association has intensified activities to help members participate in economic development and increase their income through entrusted capital from the Social Policy Bank (NHCSXH) of the province and district. The Association manages NHCSXH loan capital with a total outstanding balance of over 7 billion VND, with 5 savings and loan groups, including over 100 members who have borrowed to develop their economy and expand production.

Through this, a large number of members have been attracted to participate in economic development in various fields, yielding high efficiency, contributing to increased income, and making a positive contribution to the socio-economic development of the locality. Typical examples include veteran Ta Duc Chinh with his deer farming model, earning 200 million VND per year; and veteran Ha Thanh Lam with his tea cultivation model, earning over 300 million VND per year and creating jobs for 10 local workers.

Through numerous concrete actions in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, over 90% of members annually study and follow his teachings through specific actions, 98% of members achieve the title of "Exemplary Veteran," and 98% of members' families achieve the title of "Culturally Advanced Family." To encourage each veteran to continue promoting the study and emulation of President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, the Veterans Association of Van Mieu commune promotes emulation movements, supports and assists members in economic development, builds a strong association, and contributes to building a more developed, prosperous, and civilized homeland.
