Former One Direction member Liam Payne has passed away at the age of 31.

Rescue workers confirmed that the singer had passed away, and his body was found in the hotel's courtyard. A representative from MTV Latin America wrote on social media: "We are deeply saddened and pray for his family and loved ones to stay strong and safe."

Local news channel Todo Noticias TV interviewed Hernan Palazzo, a worker near the hotel in the Palermo neighborhood. He said: "The neighborhood was chaotic... There were a lot of police and some fans. It was sad."

Liam Payne was spotted at a music event hosted by former One Direction member Niall Horan on October 2nd. He also recently celebrated his 31st birthday in the UK.

Just days before his death, the singer from the 90s generation posted on Snapchat pictures of his trip to Argentina, talking about horseback riding and expressing his desire to return home to see his dog.

Liam Payne rose to global fame as a member of the pop band One Direction, alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson.

The group began performing after finishing third in the UK version of the X Factor talent competition in 2010. Six years later, the group disbanded as the members pursued individual careers.

Liam Payne has publicly shared about his struggle with addiction and the time he spent in rehabilitation centers.

The former One Direction member has a son, born in 2017, with singer Cheryl Cole (former member of Girls Aloud). In a video posted last year, Liam expressed his happiness, pride, and responsibility towards his son.

"He's amazing. He's growing up so fast. My son is much smarter than I thought. He's truly a miracle," Liam said about his only son.
