Nearly 150 guests attended the workshop, including representatives from the leadership of Da Lat City, departments and agencies of Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa provinces; experts in tourism and arts; and businesses in the tourism, aviation, travel, and accommodation sectors.

Mr. Dang Quang Tu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Lat City, delivered the opening remarks at the workshop.

Mr. Dang Quang Tu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Lat City, said that in recent years, the city has been actively implementing tourism plans and strategies, focusing on building Da Lat into one of the "green" tourist cities in the country, both in terms of landscape and social environment, with "green" tourism products based on the potential and strengths of the locality. Da Lat aims to develop tourism at a rapid and sustainable pace, linked to the concept of "green growth" based on the rational exploitation of natural resources and protection of the tourism environment.

According to Mr. Tu, Da Lat City has recently been recognized by international organizations as an "ASEAN Clean Tourism City" for the period 2022-2024; Lifestyle Asia magazine proposed Da Lat as one of the 12 most romantic destinations in Asia in 2022. Recently, on October 31st, Da Lat officially became a member of UNESCO's global network of creative cities in the field of music , thanks to which Da Lat has become more well-known to international tourists.

"The purpose of the workshop is to create a forum for exchange, discussion, and proposal of specific, scientifically valuable solutions, in the spirit of promoting collective ideas and intelligence to boost and revive the tourism industry, accelerate the restructuring of the tourism market, build new tourism products, green tourism, and stimulate tourism demand with the goal of sustainable local tourism development," Mr. Tu shared.

At the workshop, Mr. Cao The Anh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Tourism Association, presented the current situation and solutions to promote linkages and cooperation in developing Da Lat tourism towards green tourism and sustainable development.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Da Lat City and Tuoi Tre Newspaper summarized and awarded prizes for the forum competition "Proposing Ideas for Sustainable Tourism Development in Da Lat". Also at the conference, Da Lat City summarized 20 years of implementing the "Green Label" program in Da Lat, commending tourism service businesses that have achieved outstanding results and made efforts in environmental protection, efficient use of resources and energy, contributing to the preservation of heritage, economic, cultural, and social development, and sustainable tourism development in the locality.
