Da Nang exempts 100% of tuition fees for students

DNVN - On July 30, the 19th session of the 10th term People's Council of Da Nang City passed a Resolution to support 100% of tuition fees for preschool children, primary school students, and students at vocational training institutions for the 2024-2025 school year in the city.

This Resolution applies to preschool children, students of public general schools (including students at continuing education centers following the general education program); preschool children and students of non-public general schools; private primary school students who are eligible for tuition reduction policies according to regulations. It does not apply to preschool children, general school students and students of vocational training institutions of foreign-invested educational institutions.

Da Nang students are exempt from tuition fees for the 2024-2025 school year.

Accordingly, 100% tuition support will be provided according to the tuition fees for public preschool and general education for the 2024-2025 school year as prescribed by the People's Council of Da Nang City, for 9 months of the 2024-2025 school year.

Support 100% of tuition fees for students studying high school cultural knowledge and general education programs in public and private vocational education institutions according to the public high school tuition fees for the 2024 - 2025 school year as prescribed by the City People's Council, supporting a maximum of 9 months of the 2024 - 2025 school year.

Subjects who are entitled to tuition fee reduction according to the policies of the Central Government and the City will be compensated with 100% of the tuition fee for public preschool and general education for the 2024-2025 school year as prescribed by the City People's Council. The support does not apply to preschool children, students of general schools, and students of vocational training institutions who are exempt from tuition fees according to the policies of the Central Government and the City.

The total expected support budget is about more than 108 billion VND, of which the support budget for preschool children and students of public schools (excluding those exempted from tuition fees according to the policies of the Central Government and the City) is about 78 billion VND.

The estimated support budget for preschool children, students of non-public general schools, private primary school students who are eligible for tuition reduction policies according to regulations, students studying high school cultural knowledge and general education programs in vocational training institutions (excluding subjects exempted from tuition fees according to central and city policies) is about 30 billion VND.

The funding source for implementation comes from the Da Nang City budget allocated in the annual estimate to the education sector according to management decentralization.
