Da Nang: Locals and tourists eagerly reserve spots to watch the fireworks.

On the afternoon of May 30th, before the opening ceremony of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026, many locals and tourists gathered along the central streets, the banks of the Han River, the bridges, and various vantage points to await the opening night's performance.

An atmosphere of excitement permeated the city, yet order and security were maintained in areas with large crowds. Law enforcement officers were also deployed to many key locations to ensure order and safety.

On many streets such as Tran Hung Dao, Bach Dang, the Dragon Bridge area, and observation points along the Han River, the number of people is increasing as the opening of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026 approaches.

The route to the stage had been crowded since the afternoon.

This year, DIFF 2026 takes place from May 30th to July 11th with the theme "Da Nang - Connecting Horizons," bringing together 10 of the world's leading fireworks teams to compete. The opening night, themed "Peace," marks the beginning of a series of six performances eagerly awaited by locals and tourists alike.

Despite having watched fireworks in Da Nang many times before, many residents still choose to arrive early to secure good spots and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Ms. Le Huynh Xuan Phuc, a resident of Da Nang, excitedly shared: “Every year, my family looks forward to this festival and goes to watch it together. For us, the festival is not just an annual event, but also a milestone marking the city's change and development. I've always felt proud of my city having a fireworks festival.”

Although the festival didn't officially open until the evening, people had already arrived early.

Not only locals, but many tourists also took advantage of arriving early to immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere along the Han River. Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, a tourist from Nghe An province, also affirmed that he felt very much looking forward to and excited to be able to directly watch the fireworks opening ceremony in Da Nang for the first time.

Despite the large crowd, there was no pushing or disorder. Many families prepared mats, water, and snacks for convenience while waiting. Tourist groups proactively arranged themselves neatly, kept walkways clear, and followed the instructions of the authorities.

Authorities proceeded to remind and remove the tarpaulins that people had set up to reserve and sell parking spaces.

Get ready to enjoy some spectacular fireworks displays.

For the city's residents, the fireworks festival is not only a unique cultural and tourism event but also an opportunity to showcase the image of a friendly and hospitable Da Nang to friends both domestically and internationally. The excitement of the people, along with their awareness of maintaining order and civility in public places, created beautiful scenes leading up to the start of the fireworks season.
