This is an activity within the series of events of the 2025 Festival of the Quintessence of the Great Forest - Convergence of the Blue Sea organized by the People's Committee of Gia Lai province from August 29 to September 2.

Participating in the culinary festival “Delicious dishes from Bazan land and the sea” are 94 booths of 33 units from restaurants inside and outside the province. Visitors not only experience and enjoy a series of specialties from the two regions of Gia Lai province but also visit and shop for OCOP products, typical products of the province.

In particular, visitors can experience and enjoy free drinks made from specialty coffee from the basalt land in the West of Gia Lai such as: egg coffee, salt coffee, pandan coffee, coconut water coffee...

Participating in this festival, Nam Yang Agricultural and Service Cooperative (Kon Gang commune) brought specialty coffee products produced and processed according to a closed process, especially 2 products with 5-star OCOP certification: Dak Yang Fine Robusta coffee and Dak Yang Honey coffee.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga - Deputy Director of the Cooperative - shared: "Dak Yang coffee products use the coffee variety planted from 1995-1998 and are cultivated in a sustainable organic manner. During the harvest process, we only pick ripe fruits, process them for natural fermentation, then dry them on the floor, roast and process them into finished products. Therefore, Dak Yang coffee retains its most distinctive flavor. This festival is an opportunity for us to promote and introduce Dak Yang coffee products, especially the two products that have achieved 5-star OCOP of the Cooperative".
As a coffee shop owner in Quy Nhon, Mr. Le Minh Chinh (99 Pho Duc Chinh, Quy Nhon ward) is very interested in the booth displaying coffee products from the localities of Tay Gia Lai region.
He shared: “I came here to learn more about coffee products as well as drinks made from specialty coffees to serve my family business.”

Bringing to the festival traditional dishes of the Jrai people such as: grilled chicken with bamboo rice, fried noodles, grilled pork, rice wine and many dishes made from wild vegetables, Mr. Bach Hong Quy - Owner of Jarai Food (Dien Hong ward) wishes to introduce and bring to coastal tourists unforgettable experiences.
“Not simply like the previous trips to promote and introduce the culinary culture of the ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands in coastal areas, we came here with the mindset of being a family. We also want to exchange, learn and experience the cuisine of other regions of Gia Lai,” Mr. Quy happily said.

The most impressive highlight was the program introducing the art of tuna cuisine. Domestic chefs and experts from Japan, Thailand and Australia performed tuna fillets weighing more than 50 kg, then processed them into new dishes such as: tuna sticky rice, tuna macadamia porridge, European-style grilled tuna or spicy Thai curry.
It is expected that about 5,000 free meals will be served during the 3-day festival, providing the opportunity to fully experience the taste of the ocean in the middle of the Central Highlands.
Ms. Tran Thu Thuy (a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) excitedly said: “My family and I have enjoyed dishes made from tuna many times, but this is the first time we have seen the chefs slaughter and prepare the fish on the spot. Everything is quick, beautiful and very impressive. The dishes made from this special fish of the sea are also very delicious and attractive.”

Along with that, I also enjoyed many specialties of the basalt land of the Central Highlands” - Miss Dinh Thi Hoa shared.

Coming to Gia Lai during this holiday, visitors can also immerse themselves in a unique cultural space with bustling gongs, typical folk art, craft village stalls recreating the traditional beauty of ethnic minorities, along with music, comedy, circus programs... creating a colorful picture.
