DNVN – On September 23, Dong A University decided to award full scholarships (100% tuition fee for the entire course) for all students who are orphans and children of people in Lang Nu village, which was severely damaged by floods following Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi ).
Scholarships, funded by the Cherry Blossom Scholarship Fund of Dong A University, will be awarded to high school students from Lang Nu village (Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province) who are of age and wish to apply for university studies at Dong A University.

Students from Dong A University donated to support people in northern localities in overcoming the consequences of Typhoon Yagi.
Accordingly, starting from the 2025-2026 academic year, high school students in Lang Nu village who are of university age as mentioned above will be awarded full scholarships by Dong A University when studying in the university's training programs, and the university will ensure employment for them after graduation.
In addition to academic studies, the school will focus on training foreign languages and work skills to help students access and integrate into the international environment through internship and work programs in Japan during their studies and after graduation.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao, Rector of Dong A University, said that in recent days, along with the rest of the country focusing on the northern localities, especially Lang Nu village – which is suffering very heavy consequences from Typhoon Yagi – the faculty and students of Dong A University have also been restless.
Teachers and staff at the school donated a day's salary, and students contributed... to support the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City with 500 million VND through the opening ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year on September 18th, to share with the people in overcoming grief and loss and rebuilding their lives (during this period, the school also allocated 500 million VND from its reserve fund to support flood victims in Central Vietnam).
In order to help students have more opportunities to study after so much pain and loss, the school provides scholarships, gives them future opportunities, and arranges jobs for them in Japan after graduation, so that the children of Lang Nu village, after the tragedy, can continue to pursue their dreams of attending university, developing their careers, integrating into society, and returning many years later to contribute to the development of their village.
"We hope the authorities of Nu Village will facilitate communication so that Dong A University can contribute its small part to alleviating the immense pain and loss suffered in Nu Village after Typhoon Yagi," Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao urged.
