Hanoi University of Pharmacy is using A-level scores for admissions for the first time.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - In 2025, Hanoi University of Pharmacy plans to recruit students using four methods, including, for the first time, using A-level scores.

The four admission methods include: direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and admission combining academic transcripts with SAT certificates; admission based on academic transcripts for specialized students or A-level certificates (higher general education certificates from the UK); admission based on the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's aptitude test scores; and admission based on high school graduation exam scores.

This year, for the first time, Hanoi University of Pharmacy is accepting applications from candidates with A-level certificates. Candidates need to have a score of 80/100 or higher in three subjects according to the admission combination for each major, with a minimum score of 90/100 in Chemistry.

For SAT scores, the requirement is a score of 1400/1600 or higher for Pharmacy; and 1350 for other fields.

The total number of admissions slots for the University of Pharmacy in 2025 is 940, including slots reserved for students from the Central Ethnic Minority Pre-University School.

The Pharmacy program has the highest enrollment with 760 students, including 30 places for the joint program with the University of Sydney, Australia.

As of now, many medical and pharmaceutical schools have already announced their admission plans for 2025.

Hanoi Medical University plans to maintain the same admission methods as the previous year:

- Method 1: Direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi Medical University.

- Method 2: Considering high school graduation exam scores

- Method 3: Admission based on a combination of high school graduation exam scores and international foreign language certificates.

- Method 4: Based on the Hanoi National University's aptitude test scores (HSA).

This year, in particular, the school will open two new majors: Social Work and Medical Imaging Technology.

Previously, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Hue University announced its 2025 admissions plan. The university will maintain the same admissions methods as in 2024 and will consider expanding these methods in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the needs of society.

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) plans to add an admission method for students who already have a university degree to study Medicine and Pharmacy starting in 2025. Accordingly, for these students, the Medicine program will be 4 years long, while the Pharmacy program will be 3 years long.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine plans to increase its enrollment quotas for 2025 in the following fields: Traditional Medicine (up 20%); Nursing (up 10%); and Pharmacy (up 30%).

Specifically, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine does not apply a foreign language as a supplementary criterion when considering equal scores, unlike in 2024 and earlier years.
