To commemorate the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2023) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2023), on the morning of September 1st, a delegation from the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense , led by General Phan Van Giang, Member of the Political Bureau, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defense, laid flowers and offered incense in remembrance of President Ho Chi Minh and planted a commemorative tree at the K9 - Da Chong Historical Site in Ba Vi District, Hanoi.
The delegation included General Ngo Xuan Lich, former member of the Politburo , former Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and former Minister of National Defense; Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense; Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense; leaders of the General Staff, the General Political Department, the Command of the Guarding of President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the Management Board of President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, and other agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense...
Offering incense and flowers to express their profound respect and boundless gratitude for the immense contributions, dedication, and noble sacrifices of President Ho Chi Minh to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the delegation reported to Uncle Ho on the results of their work in the first six months of 2023.
Notably, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and Party committees and commanders at all levels have led and directed the entire army to unite, proactively overcome difficulties, and comprehensively fulfill all tasks, with many tasks being completed successfully.
Notably, this includes proactively researching and accurately assessing the situation, advising and proposing to the Party and State effective solutions to handle situations, preventing passivity and surprises, and firmly protecting the territorial sovereignty of the Fatherland; promptly drawing lessons learned and directing adjustments to the content and methods of training, education, combat plans, and building political and spiritual factors within the Army.
At the same time, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense focused on leading and directing the comprehensive and decisive implementation of the "Year of Force Organization Adjustment" in accordance with the spirit of Resolution No. 05-NQ/TW of the Politburo, Resolution No. 230-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission, and Plan No. 1228/KH-BQP of the Ministry of National Defense; and seriously implemented the resolutions of the Central Military Commission on training, education, and development.
The quality of training, education, drills, competitions, and sports events in agencies, units, and schools has improved. Regularity, the building of strong, comprehensive, "exemplary and outstanding" units, and adherence to discipline have shown progressive changes.
Military administrative reform, the development of e-government, and digital transformation within the Ministry of National Defense have initially yielded positive results; ensuring good logistical and technical support for both regular and unexpected tasks, and stabilizing and improving the lives of soldiers.
International integration and defense diplomacy have been implemented proactively and flexibly; active participation in UN peacekeeping operations, humanitarian assistance, and earthquake disaster relief in Türkiye has been recognized and highly appreciated internationally…
With the results and achievements attained in the first six months of 2023, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense pledge to continue focusing on leadership and guidance in military and national defense work; in particular, continuing to build a strong Party Committee within the Army in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization, and personnel; a politically strong Army; and focusing on leading and directing the implementation of key tasks until the end of the 13th Party Congress term, as well as resolutions and conclusions on military and national defense tasks and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
Furthermore, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense are improving the quality and effectiveness of political education and ideological leadership; building a team of cadres and Party members with firm ideological stances and unwavering political fortitude, absolutely trusting in the Party's guidelines and policies, and ready to accept and successfully complete assigned tasks; actively fighting to protect the Party's ideological foundation, innovating methods of combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints; resolutely and persistently fighting against manifestations of degradation, "self-evolution," and "self-transformation," while promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style.
At the same time, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense continue to innovate leadership style, management methods, command, and operation to ensure scientific, democratic, and grassroots-oriented approaches; encourage cadres to dare to think, dare to act, and dare to take responsibility for the common good, ensuring that words are matched by deeds; and effectively resolve working relationships based on the principles of Party organization and activities.
