Dak Nong's GRDP growth in the first quarter ranked second in the Central Highlands region.

On the afternoon of April 3rd, the leadership of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee chaired a three-level online conference to assess the socio-economic situation and ensure national defense and security in March and the first quarter, as well as the direction and tasks for the second quarter of 2025.

Opening the conference, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ho Van Muoi, emphasized that in the first quarter, Dak Nong continuously received many directives from the Central Government and the Provincial Party Committee in all fields. Many socio -economic sectors achieved quite high figures. GRDP growth reached 7.7%, an increase of 0.25% compared to the first quarter plan and an increase of 1.93% compared to the same period in 2024. With these results, Dak Nong's GRDP ranked second in the Central Highlands region.

To achieve the targeted growth rate of 8.11%, the province is focusing on implementing many decisive solutions. First and foremost, the disbursement of public investment funds must be accelerated.

“The province’s investment disbursement currently ranks 30th out of 63 provinces and cities. Although the figure is quite good, the amount of undisbursed capital in 2025 is still very large. Meanwhile, the Central Highlands are entering the rainy season. Therefore, everyone must work together to complete everything so that when the weather is favorable, we can accelerate progress, especially on key projects,” emphasized Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Muoi.

Units and localities should focus on effectively exploiting potential to increase budget revenue. Relevant units should actively support and expedite the granting of investment approvals to businesses and investors, especially those in the field of bauxite mining and processing.

According to assessments, in the first quarter of 2025, the socio-economic situation in Dak Nong remained stable. Agricultural production was favorable, with higher coffee yields and prices compared to the same period last year. The industrial development index increased significantly. Budget revenue was high.

The Provincial People's Committee regularly organizes conferences, meetings, and field surveys to monitor progress and provide guidance, resolving difficulties and obstacles for each project... Social welfare activities are ensured. Social order, security, and national defense are maintained.

However, in the first quarter of 2025, many major tasks that directly contribute to the growth momentum in 2025 were behind schedule. For example, the approval of land use plans for 2025 by localities was delayed. Progress in urban planning implementation still faced shortcomings. The process of restructuring and reforming agricultural and forestry companies to improve production and business efficiency also encountered significant obstacles.

In the first quarter of 2025, Dak Nong's GRDP growth reached 7.7% (planned 7.32%) . State budget revenue reached VND 1,471 billion , achieving 52 % of the central government's estimate, 42 % of the local government's estimate, and increasing by 37 % compared to the same period last year . The overall asphalt and hardening rate reached 72 % /74%; the urbanization rate reached 26.2 % /27%; and the percentage of households with access to electricity reached 99%.
