Speaking to reporters, Zelensky said: "I think negotiations with the Russian side will resume. The question is in what form."
Earlier, on June 4th, Zelensky published an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, proposing a meeting in a third country. President Putin was informed of this letter.

Later, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the Russian leader considered the message a sign of Ukraine's lack of interest in negotiations to resolve the conflict, and noted that the prospects for the negotiation process remained difficult to predict.
Russia has repeatedly stated its readiness to pursue a negotiated solution to the Ukraine crisis based on the common understandings reached between the Russian and US presidents at the summit in Alaska, including addressing the root causes of the conflict, particularly those threats to Russia's national security.
The latest related information, reported by TASS on June 19, quotes Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as saying that Moscow wants to achieve the goals of the special military operation in Ukraine through diplomatic means, but needs to ensure its own security in order to do so.
"Russia wants to achieve the goals of the special military operation through diplomacy. This requires reliably guaranteeing security along Russia's western border and ensuring respect and dignity for our citizens and compatriots, including the right to speak their native Russian and practice the Orthodox faith," the Russian diplomat stated in the article "Ukraine, Europe and Global Security."
At the same time, he noted that "the West's continued military, political, and economic expansion is unacceptable, as it runs counter to the essential requirements of a multipolar world."
Speaking to reporters, Foreign Minister Lavrov said that Türkiye had affirmed its interest not only in providing a forum for negotiations on Ukraine, but also in playing a useful role in them. Accordingly, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had contacted him along with senior Russian officials, as well as met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"One of the main topics on the international agenda is Türkiye's assertion of its interest not only in providing a forum, but also in playing a useful role in the negotiations. Of course, this is only possible if both sides believe it is feasible," according to Lavrov.
Meanwhile, following the conclusion of the Ramstein Format meeting (Ukraine Defense Contact Group led by the U.S.) in Belgium on June 18, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced that Western allies had jointly pledged $4 billion in military aid to Kyiv.
The new aid packages, announced at the NATO defense ministers' meeting and the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group (UDCG) meeting, mainly consist of anti-aircraft missiles, UAVs, and artillery.
Writing on Telegram, President Zelensky said that his country wants to end the hostilities with Russia before winter through diplomacy and pressure on Moscow. He said that if the fighting continues, Ukraine will need a winter aid package including gas, diesel, and energy equipment, along with a package of at least 300 missiles. He added that this is what he has already informed the Council of Europe.
Since the beginning of the year, Russian and Ukrainian delegations, with the participation of the United States, have held three rounds of negotiations. The most recent round took place in Geneva, Switzerland, on February 17-18.
