According to the list of candidates recommended for recognition as professors and associate professors in 2024 from the State Council of Professors, this year the youngest professor candidate in the country is Associate Professor Dr. Tran Quoc Trung, a candidate for professor in Economics .
Associate Professor Tran Quoc Trung, born in 1986, hails from Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province. He was one of six outstanding young citizens honored by Ho Chi Minh City in 2016 and has been selected as an outstanding young teacher of Ho Chi Minh City for many consecutive years.
Associate Professor Tran Quoc Trung shared: “I was recruited as a lecturer at the Foreign Trade University immediately after graduating with a bachelor's degree in 2008. For over 15 years, I have dedicated all my time and effort to teaching, scientific research, and participating in management at the Foreign Trade University's Campus II in Ho Chi Minh City. After being recognized as an associate professor in 2020, I have continued to invest time in deepening my professional knowledge, actively supporting colleagues and students in scientific research, and contributing to improving the quality of teaching and scientific research at the University.”

Reportedly, Mr. Trung received his university degree in economics from the Foreign Trade University in 2008.
In 2011 and 2012, he consecutively received two master's degrees: one in business administration from the Foreign Trade University and one in law, economics, and management from Lille 2 University in the Republic of France.
In 2017, Mr. Trung received his PhD from Lille 2 University.
In 2020, at the young age of 34, Mr. Trung was recognized as having met the standards for the title of associate professor.
Throughout his career, from graduation to the present, Mr. Tran Quoc Trung has worked at the Foreign Trade University. Currently, he holds the position of Deputy Director of Campus 2, Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City.
Associate Professor Dr. Tran Quoc Trung's two research areas include financial management, corporate governance, and enterprise risk management under the influence of the business environment; and the business of goods and services in the context of international integration and digital transformation.
To date, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Quoc Trung has published 64 scientific articles. Of these, 32 are in prestigious international journals, 31 in domestic journals, and 1 in an online international journal. The candidate has also published 7 books in which he served as editor or co-editor.
In addition, Mr. Trung has completed 8 scientific research projects from the grassroots level upwards, including 1 national-level project and 1 Nafosted-funded project.
In his teaching work, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Quoc Trung shared that he always strives to choose the most appropriate teaching methods for each learner in order to encourage their initiative, innovative spirit, and critical thinking.
