To commemorate the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), the youth of Vinh Long have carried out many meaningful and humane activities.

As part of this series of activities, the Provincial Youth Union organized a pilgrimage to pay respects to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Temple (Long Duc Ward). More than 200 Youth Union officials, members, and young people respectfully offered flowers and incense and observed a moment of silence in remembrance of the beloved President Ho Chi Minh. In the solemn atmosphere of the Temple, many young people were moved when they heard about his life, revolutionary career, and the special affection that the Party Committee, government, and people of Vinh Long have for him.
Nguyen Trong Tri, Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Duc Ward Youth Union, shared: “Participating in the ceremony to report our achievements to President Ho Chi Minh, we clearly see the responsibility of young people today. In the coming time, I will work with the Ward Youth Union Executive Committee to continue innovating the content and methods of activities; promoting the pioneering spirit of youth in revolutionary action movements, social welfare activities, building a civilized urban area, and caring for children.”
Youth union branches at all levels in the province organized activities to commemorate the origins of the revolution, promoting the dissemination and education of revolutionary ideals, thoughts, ethics, and the style of Ho Chi Minh through thematic activities, and continuing to spread examples of good people, good deeds, and beautiful actions of union members and young people. For example, the Quoi Thien Commune Youth Union organized a thematic activity to commemorate the birthday of President Ho Chi Minh. Through simple stories about the life and style of Uncle Ho, union members and young people further understood that learning from and following him does not begin with grand gestures, but with a sense of responsibility in their studies, work, and daily lives.
The Binh Minh Ward Youth Union organized a cultural and artistic competition with content praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the homeland, attracting a large number of young people to participate. The songs and performances created a lively atmosphere, contributing to fostering patriotism and national pride in the younger generation.
In keeping with this spirit, in recent days, youth union branches at all levels have organized many specific youth projects and activities, tailored to local needs. The youth, in their green uniforms, continue to uphold the spirit of initiative and volunteerism in environmental protection and landscape development activities. For example, the Youth Union of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the province cared for the youth-built pomelo orchard at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Temple, contributing to creating a green and beautiful landscape for the historical site. The Tan Ngai Ward Youth Union organized garbage collection and cleaning of roads in Tan Vinh Thuan hamlet and the area around the hamlet's headquarters...
According to Mai Trung Binh, Secretary of the Tan Ngai Ward Youth Union: “Each project and task undertaken by the youth, though small, is aimed at the common good. Through these activities, young people cultivate a sense of responsibility, promote a pioneering spirit, and learn from and follow President Ho Chi Minh's example through the most immediate actions.”
Celebrating President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, the youth of the province actively participated in caring for social welfare. Leveraging their dynamism and professional knowledge, the Youth Union of Vinh Long University of Technology Education recently collaborated with the Trung Ngai Commune Youth Union to provide labor assistance in repairing the house of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Sam, an elderly woman living alone.
These acts of kindness continue to be nurtured through many humane activities. Students from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics branch in the province, in coordination with the An Binh Commune Youth Union, donated 10 gifts to people in difficult circumstances, spreading the spirit of mutual support and compassion in the community.
In the same spirit, the Youth Union of the Western University of Construction organized a voluntary blood donation day with the enthusiastic participation of numerous union members and students. The donated blood units carried with them a beautiful gesture and the compassionate hearts of young people.
Nguyen Cong Danh, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the Western University of Construction, said: “Volunteer activities, blood donation, and social welfare are always regularly maintained by the Youth Union. This creates an environment for union members and students to train, grow, and live more responsibly towards the community.”
