Israel's National Emergency Services Organization, Magen David Adom (MDA), said that medical personnel were dispatched just before 4 p.m. (local time) after receiving reports of a vehicle explosion.
The victim was found unconscious inside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Video released by MDA shows firefighters spraying water to extinguish the charred wreckage of the vehicle after the explosion.
Videos previously shared on social media appear to show the same vehicle engulfed in flames, with sirens blaring continuously.
Israeli police believe the bombing was linked to gang violence within the country's Arab community.
According to the Times of Israel, the victim was identified as Rabee Abu Haikal, who was believed to be linked to a local gang and had a criminal record.
This incident follows a series of similar attacks in recent weeks.
Two separate car bomb attacks on June 28 killed one person and injured two others, while at least three more died in similar explosions earlier this month.
