On May 26, Hong Bang International University cooperated with the Vietnam General Medical Association and the Institute of Medical Technology Evaluation and Research to organize an international conference "Application of medical technology assessment at the medical level". More than 200 senior medical staff, domestic and foreign experts attended the seminar.
At the conference, experts from Russia, Thailand, Singapore... said that in the world, medical technology assessment in general and budget impact analysis have been considered as important tools for the process. priority setting and health policy making process, especially in the development of health insurance (HI) benefit packages for medicines.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Hong Bang International University, said that in order to develop the health sector and take care of the community in terms of quality and quantity, many factors need to be considered, in which the assessment of medical technology is important. one of the specific and necessary solutions to improve the quality of healthcare services.
Evaluation of medical technology will contribute to solving problems in the context of limited budgets and increasing medical costs, but still ensure the best medical care and interventions for patients. This is not only a problem that hospitals and the health sector are concerned about, but also a "hot" issue of the whole society.
Ms. Thuy also added that in order for the development of health policies, especially the development of the health insurance benefits package, there would be breakthrough changes, increasing transparency, based on clear scientific evidence. To ensure the harmonization of interests of all stakeholders and ensure the solvency of the health insurance fund, the development of a medical technology evaluation system is very necessary and important.
Within the framework of the program, there is also a symposium on "Supply of drugs and medical supplies in Vietnam - Current situation and solutions". The conference aims to promote the best use of drugs and medical supplies for patients.
