Awakening the green La Vuong plateau in Binh Dinh

On August 31st, the People's Committee of Hoai Nhon town, Binh Dinh province, organized the "La Vuong - Green Plateau Calling" tourism festival, attracting thousands of visitors from all over. This meticulously organized tourism event by Hoai Nhon town aims to transform the area into an attractive tourist destination, especially for nature lovers.

The festival will take place from August 31st to September 1st with many activities such as the "La Vuong Green Dragon" parade; the art program "La Vuong - The Green Plateau Calls"; demonstrations of outstanding local products; Cham drumming, stone xylophone, and dance performances; sports and folk games… Especially, the first La Vuong Discovery Run - Fleur De Lys La Vuong Trail 2024.

Located at an altitude of over 700m above sea level, La Vuong plateau (Hoai Son commune, Hoai Nhon town) is likened to a miniature Da Lat due to its cool climate. La Vuong boasts diverse vegetation and forest ecosystems. A unique feature of La Vuong is that visitors can experience all four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

This area also boasts landmarks such as the Indochina Crossroads, Truong Luu Fortress, Doi Thong Airport, Bang Lac Beach, Cau Lay Lake, Chua Mountain, Co Tien Stream, Heaven's Gate, Ba Tang Waterfall... making it suitable for developing various forms of forest ecotourism and experiencing off-road sports.

However, for a long time, this plateau has been like a sleeping princess because it still lacks electricity, the roads are only suitable for a few vehicles, the infrastructure is incomplete, and there are no tourism facilities or technical equipment.

According to Le Dang Tuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoai Nhon town, in order to "awaken" La Vuong, the locality has built a road nearly 20km long, making it easy for people to come here to visit and have fun.

Watching the stream of people and vehicles speeding along the 7-meter-wide concrete road running from the foot of the mountain up to La Vuong, one gets the feeling that this green plateau is closer to tourists than ever before, and the new road has helped to exploit the potential and advantages of this new tourist area of Binh Dinh.

"The Hoai Nhon town tourism festival 'La Vuong - The Green Plateau Beckons' is a new impetus for tourism development thinking, creating a 'boost' to promote the land and people of Hoai Nhon. The town will quickly complete the infrastructure conditions so that La Vuong will soon become an attractive destination, attracting tourists," Mr. Tuan shared.

According to the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, in order to develop La Vuong, the provincial People's Committee recently launched a competition to select design ideas for the planning of the La Vuong eco-tourism development area.

The La Vuong project is designed on a scale of approximately 500 hectares, with tourism types including eco-tourism (organized according to the Glamping model with 300-350 Glamping facilities); green sports and recreational activities (horse riding, farm experiences, nature exploration tours of the Chua mountain forest, etc.); and green lifestyle tourism activities (marathon races, mountain biking, relaxation tourism combined with meditation and yoga...).

The total investment according to the plan is approximately 700 billion VND, of which the cost of land compensation and clearance is about 80 billion VND.
