Phu Quoc Pearl Island stimulates tourism to welcome the peak summer season

Continuing the positive growth momentum in 2024, in the first 5 months of 2025, Kien Giang tourism welcomed over 5.6 million visitors, an increase of 26.9% over the same period; total revenue from tourism was over 23,000 billion VND. In particular, Phu Quoc continued to affirm its leading position in local tourism, being the leading attractive destination in the region.

Ms. Quang Xuan Lua, Director of the Kien Giang Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, said that after more than 1 month of launching the tourism stimulus program, tourism businesses have coordinated to build programs to link destinations, service products, create product packages, promotional combos, etc. The Summer Tourism Program promises to bring tourists interesting and different experience product packages. In particular, with tourism stimulus programs, not only attracting domestic tourists but also creating conditions for international tourists to return and explore the beauty of Kien Giang.

With the message "Vietnam - Go to love" (Kien Giang - Sea calls, islands wait!; Kien Giang - Sea and islands converge, culture spreads), the tourism development stimulus program in 2025 is an opportunity to promote the natural beauty, culture and history of the locality, calling on all people, domestic and foreign tourists to join hands in building tourism into a spearhead economic sector of the province. The programs focus on Kien Giang's unique tourism products such as: Sea and island tourism, eco-tourism, cultural and culinary tourism... The province continues to improve the quality of tourism products and services, improve tourism infrastructure, and train high-quality human resources to meet the increasing demands of tourists. Thereby, contributing to the completion of the economic growth target of 10.02% in 2025; welcoming 11.05 million visitors, including 1.2 million international visitors.

In order to stimulate tourism activities, on the afternoon of May 23, Kien Giang Tourism Association launched activities and launched the Phu Quoc Tourism Association. Mr. Nguyen Vu Khac Huy, Permanent Vice President of Kien Giang Tourism Association, said that the Association has developed at least 47 new members, bringing the total number to 100 official members; proposed to recognize at least 2 provincial-level tourist destinations and 1 Mekong Delta-level destination; organized 2 domestic Famtrip programs (Kien Giang - Hanoi, Kien Giang - Ho Chi Minh City); organized 2 international Roadshow programs in Asia and 5 training courses, fostering tourism human resources. The Association strengthens business connections, promotes tourism promotion, focusing on Phu Quoc and new destinations; promotes regional cooperation, participates in policy contributions, promotes product development and tourism market in Kien Giang.

On this occasion, Kien Giang Tourism Association launched Phu Quoc Tourism Association, aiming to stimulate tourism more effectively on the occasion of the APEC Summit 2027 held on the Pearl Island. According to Director of Kien Giang Department of Tourism Bui Quoc Thai, Phu Quoc Tourism Association will be the core force, representing the common voice of local businesses, contributing to creating a more professional, effective and sustainable tourism environment for the "Sea and Island Tourism Paradise" of Vietnam.
