On the afternoon of September 6th, the decisions of the Politburo and the Secretariat of the Central Committee on personnel matters were announced at the Da Nang City Party Committee's meeting hall.
Attending the announcement ceremony was Mr. Le Minh Hung, member of the Politburo and head of the Central Organization Department.
Accordingly, the decision was announced appointing Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet - alternate member of the Central Committee of the Party, deputy secretary of the City Party Committee, and chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City - to the position of Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Mr. Triet, born in 1976, hails from the former Quang Nam province. He holds a high-level political theory qualification and a professional qualification: a Master of Business Administration and a degree in Silicate Technology Engineering.
Mr. Triet previously held various positions at the Da Nang City Youth Union and later served as its Secretary.
In 2013, he was the Secretary of the Lien Chieu District Party Committee (Da Nang).
He then successively held the positions of Chairman of the Da Nang City Federation of Labor, Chief of the Da Nang City Party Committee Office, and Secretary of the Hai Chau District Party Committee (Da Nang).
At the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee XXII, term 2020-2025, held in October 2020, he was elected as the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee.
In December 2020, Mr. Triet was elected Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Council.
In January 2021, at the 13th National Congress of the Party, he was elected as an alternate member of the Central Committee of the Party.
In January 2024, he was transferred and appointed by the Politburo to the position of Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee.
In July 2025, when Quang Nam merged with Da Nang, Mr. Triet was appointed to the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of the (new) Da Nang City.
Three days earlier, the Prime Minister had also issued a decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, to the position of Permanent Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate.
