(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee stated that the recent flood release in Da Nang city in particular and the Central and Central Highlands regions in general is an issue of great concern to the public and voters.

On the morning of December 10, the People's Council of Da Nang city, term X, 2021-2026, opened its 5th session. The session discussed and decided on a number of important contents within its authority.

Mr. Le Ngoc Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, stated that recently, public opinion has raised many concerns regarding the implementation of procedures and regulations for flood release from hydroelectric and irrigation reservoirs in the Central and Central Highlands regions, as well as the review of planning and implementation of small and medium-sized hydroelectric projects in the area, including Da Nang city.

The Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee stated that this is a very significant issue, attracting considerable attention from the public and voters.

"I request that the city's functional agencies, departments and branches must carefully review, have viewpoints, orientations and fundamental solutions to thoroughly handle this problem," Mr. Quang emphasized.

According to the Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, 2025 is the year to reorganize the apparatus and administrative units; build a two-level local government model; organize party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term; and concretize many important, breakthrough resolutions of the Politburo .

In addition, natural disasters and climate change continue to affect production and people's lives.

The Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee affirmed that, in the face of great demands, tasks, and new pressures, the Party Committee, government, and people of the city have upheld the tradition of unity and solidarity; strived for innovation and creativity; and focused on leadership, direction, and organization to achieve comprehensive results in many fields.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung, Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City, emphasized that this is a very important meeting to comprehensively evaluate the results of implementing tasks in 2025, the first year after the arrangement and consolidation of administrative units and the operation of the 2-level local government model.

The meeting also decided on key goals, tasks and solutions for 2026 and the following years, creating a decisive foundation for the 2026-2030 development period.

In 2025, Da Nang city has focused on synchronously implementing policies and solutions, focusing on perfecting institutions, improving the investment environment, developing strategic infrastructure, science - technology and innovation as growth drivers.

Thanks to that, Da Nang's economy continues to maintain its growth momentum, with GRDP in 2025 estimated at 9.18%. State budget revenue is estimated at more than VND 59,000 billion, equal to more than 117% of the assigned estimate and 108% compared to the same period in 2024.

Of which, domestic revenue reached over 52,000 billion VND, equal to over 117% of the assigned estimate and 108% compared to the same period. Local budget expenditures were managed tightly, economically and effectively.

The investment and business environment continues to improve. As of November 20th, Da Nang city has 1,285 projects with a total investment capital of nearly 11 billion USD, more than 2,000 domestic projects with a total capital of over 738,000 billion VND, and over 51,000 businesses and branches operating with a total registered capital of over 329,000 billion VND.

In 2025, the number of guests is estimated to reach more than 17 million (up 15%), of which international guests will reach more than 7.6 million (up 25%), domestic guests will reach nearly 9.7 million (up 8%). Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and tourism is estimated to reach nearly VND60,000 billion, up 21% over the same period.

"These results are vivid evidence of the effective implementation of specific mechanisms and policies, the attention and support from the Central Government, the coordination of ministries, departments, and localities; especially, the consensus and solidarity in overcoming all difficulties and challenges of all officials and civil servants; and the unity, support, and trust of the people throughout the city," the Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Council emphasized.
