| The police in Dai Phuc commune used AI-generated images for their promotional activities on their fan page, attracting considerable attention and followers from the public. |
In many police departments across Thai Nguyen province, the use of clips, simulated videos , and AI-generated images for public awareness campaigns has quickly proven effective. With just a few dozen seconds for a short video, a situation is illustrated directly, and the narration is concise and easy to remember, allowing citizens to immediately grasp the information and understand the issue without needing to read a long document.
The most striking aspect of this method lies in its viral spread. A clip created by AI and posted on the local police's Facebook page is quickly shared by people through community groups, Zalo, parent forums, and more.
A timely and relevant video can reach thousands of people in just a few hours. Previously, disseminating warning information required community meetings, loudspeakers, or leaflets; now, everything happens flexibly on each person's smartphone.
The police in communes and wards apply this approach to the following areas: warning about new scam tactics, guiding the identification of fake information, skills in handling fire and explosion incidents, traffic safety, and types of crime emerging in the online environment.
Content that might seem dry and uninteresting becomes relatable when illustrated with cartoon characters and simulated real-life situations—a fake phone call, a lottery winning message, a suspicious link, a minor traffic accident, etc.—making it easily accessible to people of all ages, from the elderly to teenagers. And when the content is easily understood, preventative actions become more natural.
In the context of rising cybercrime and increasingly sophisticated AI-powered voice and image spoofing, the proactive use of technology by the police force to combat its negative aspects is a suitable approach.
This also represents a transformation of the local police force, shifting from a role of handling incidents to a role of "partner" in crime prevention and digital security protection. Commune-level police are gradually forming a "Digital Police" ecosystem, using technology as its foundation and placing citizens at its center. This is an innovation in communication methods, while simultaneously demonstrating an increasingly professional and modern service mindset.
In an era where every piece of information competes for the moment to be released, the police force's proactive innovation is highly commendable. When safety information, warnings, and legal matters are conveyed in a vivid, accessible, and effective manner, the protection of citizens will undoubtedly be higher.
More importantly, trust between the people and the police force is strengthened by simple things, understanding, adaptability, and dedication to community peace. That is the greatest value that "Digital Police" brings.
