A reputable livestock brand, expanding its reach further.

Among the vast number of feed companies, livestock companies, and food processing companies, Hai Thinh is a name that is easy to recognize. After 20 years of development, Hai Thinh Nutrition Joint Stock Company has become a reputable livestock brand, expanding its reach beyond Bac Ninh province.

While not yet a large-scale company, Hai Thinh is well-known because, in a short period of time, it has completed the entire livestock chain – something not easily achieved by a new company just starting out in the increasingly competitive "livestock industry": producing animal feed, producing high-yield breeding stock, and processing and preserving meat and meat products (Hai Thinh's food chain).

Hai Thinh places special emphasis on researching animal feed lines suitable for the soil conditions, climate, and specific characteristics of each region. Therefore, the feed bearing the company's name is always well-received and trusted by dealers and livestock farmers.

Looking back over the past two decades, Hai Thinh has continuously leveraged its strengths, constantly expanding production, improving quality, and developing its brand. From a local company, Hai Thinh has now expanded beyond Bac Ninh province, becoming a well-known livestock company nationwide. The company is currently a trusted partner of many production and business establishments, and a companion to livestock farmers across the provinces with its high-quality and reputable products.

I went to sell animal feed, but was sent back.

Every beginning is difficult, and for Le Van Hai, General Director of Hai Thinh Nutrition Joint Stock Company, the early days of his business were filled with unforgettable memories. He carried bags of animal feed to sell, pleading and persuading customers to buy, but sales were slow. He even took 10 tons of feed to Cuong Nghiep Agency ( Thai Nguyen ) and Lai Tuyen Agency (Tuyen Quang), entrusting them to sell it for him with the highest possible discount, but after a full month, he had to go back to pick up the feed again.

According to Mr. Hai, the dealers genuinely wanted to help, but new, unknown products weren't easy to sell. And to this day, the dealers remain loyal, loving, and supportive of Hai Thinh, always recalling that story as a bittersweet memory, highlighting just how difficult and arduous the business path was when we were "three no's: no money, no brand, and no customers."

That's something not every business owner experiences. When you're unknown to the authorities, doing business is not easy. In the blink of an eye, over 20 years later, in the animal feed, poultry feed, and aquaculture feed production sector alone, Hai Thinh owns five best-selling feed brands: HAITHINH FEED, LORD FEED, HYPER FEED, COMPLEX FEED, and GREENHOPE.

Back then, no company had its own factory. The bags of feed bearing the Hai Thinh name "came off the production line" from other feed factories. Outsourcing was quite common at that time, especially for small businesses that were just starting out.

A feed mill with a capacity of about ten thousand tons per month, with sleek, shiny steel silos filled with golden corn, is the dream of many newly established animal feed business owners, including Mr. Hai.

Later, Hai Thinh switched to producing mixed animal feed, but still had to outsource production to other factories. The warm, concentrated feed bags bearing the Hai Thinh brand, fresh off the conveyor belt and immediately shipped to distributors, were a source of joy, excitement, and pride not only for Director Le Van Hai, but for all members of the company.

But the dream of owning his own animal feed factory remained a burning desire for Mr. Hai. Investing in a factory with a capacity of tens of thousands of tons per month would cost tens of billions of dong, a sum of money that wasn't easily obtained. "We comforted each other, and both the leaders and the staff and workers, we just worked tirelessly day and night, striving relentlessly," Mr. Hai recalled.

Then, the big dream came true. Hai Thinh inaugurated its animal feed production plant at Lot CN4, Doan Bai Industrial Cluster, Hiep Hoa District, Bac Giang Province (formerly), with a capacity of 300,000 tons, featuring two production lines for livestock and poultry feed and one production line for aquatic feed.

The factory marks a significant milestone, opening up new expectations and aiming for greater heights and further expansion for Hai Thinh, through the creation of superior quality animal feed products, optimized production costs, and professional services.

Formerly Bac Giang, a major livestock farming region in Northern Vietnam (pigs, chickens, aquaculture); with favorable transportation infrastructure; and a transparent investment environment with many tax and fee incentives, Hai Thinh has been further strengthened, enabling its scale and production capacity to grow larger.

The factory utilizes modern machinery and technology from Europe, coupled with internationally and domestically certified quality management systems such as ISO 9001:2015 and QCVN01-183:2016. Production and management also meet ISO 9001-2008 standards. The factory's laboratory system allows for analysis of 12 criteria, ensuring that the animal feed produced is always of high quality and safe.

First, the breed; second, the food…

In agricultural production, there's an old proverb that says, "First water, second fertilizer, diligence, fourth seeds," placing the role of seeds last. However, modern science and technology have proven that seeds always play the number one role, determining productivity, quality, and product appearance. And increasingly, seeds are being restored to their rightful place.

With that in mind, Hai Thinh embarked on selecting, breeding, and producing high-yield livestock breeds to supply to farmers, in order to replace and improve the quality of low-quality breeds.

On the one hand, the company collaborates with domestic scientists to survey and search for superior genetic resources of native chicken breeds, resulting in delicious meat quality and good resistance, crossbreeding them with parent birds possessing hybrid vigor to create F1 generations with outstanding productivity, quality, and beautiful feather and skin color that are favored by customers.

For pig and poultry breeding, the company has collaborated with many renowned breeding corporations worldwide to supply the Vietnamese market with the best quality breeding stock: good reproduction, low feed consumption, rapid growth, high disease resistance, low fat content, and suitability to Vietnamese consumer preferences.

Researching and breeding livestock with unique characteristics, qualities, and appearances, creating distinctive features for local agricultural products, has always been a goal the company pursues, both in the short and long term.

In addition to researching and producing breeding stock, the company also directly establishes breeding farms to "measure and test" the quality of feed and breeding stock supplied to the market. From this, the company can adjust its raw materials, feed production formulas, and breeding selection processes to achieve the best possible results.

Hai Thinh has its own pig, chicken, and duck farming system and a contract farming system, all adhering to VIETGAP standards. Specifically, the company has 3 high-yield sow farms with a scale of 800 breeding sows (Landrace, Yorkshire, Duroc) and 50,000 fattening pigs; and a poultry farming system (chickens, ducks) with 19 farms, totaling 200,000 hens.

Closing the chain, bringing clean food to every kitchen.

Not content with just raising livestock, Mr. Le Van Hai has always aspired to bring the best food to every Vietnamese family's kitchen. That's why Hai Thinh has built and developed a food chain to provide consumers with meat, eggs, and processed meat products (sausages, ham, spring rolls, etc.).

Although this is a challenging journey due to small-scale slaughtering and the distribution of pork and chicken to consumers, especially in rural areas, which has traditionally relied on temporary markets and makeshift stalls, processed food on industrial production lines, subject to strict hygiene and safety checks, is not cheap.

Not to mention that consumer awareness and trust in processed foods are still very limited. The habit of "buying whatever you see" or "buying whatever you come across" is still common among housewives in rural markets.

But true to their word, and determined to reach their goal, in the food processing sector, Hai Thinh has built a centralized slaughterhouse and food processing area, producing many safe, delicious, and healthy products such as sausages, ham, and spring rolls that meet OCOP standards…

With the motto "Quality and safety through a closed-loop process from farm to kitchen," the company has implemented a 3F food chain process: Feed - Farm - Food: Production of animal feed; livestock farming according to ViepGAP standards; slaughtering and food processing. This helps consumers ensure their health and feel more secure in their daily meals.

Mr. Hai stated that, not stopping at 3F, the company is moving towards implementing 5F by adding two more Fs: Fertilizer and Farm Corner (a chain of retail stores selling directly to customers). 5F represents a closed-loop circular production chain, enhancing the company's social responsibility by controlling environmental pollution, producing in harmony with nature, and avoiding overexploitation of natural resources. Only in this way can sustainable development be achieved, ensuring quality control and optimizing costs for the end consumer.

Hai Thinh's goal is to become a supplier of clean, standard-compliant food for factories and industrial zones in Bac Ninh province in particular, serving tens of thousands of workers, thousands of collective kitchens, and neighboring provinces in general; and in the long term, the company strives to build a chain of food stores to bring Hai Thinh's products directly to the people.

In addition, Hai Thinh also plans to build a new slaughterhouse in each locality of Bac Ninh province to process the pigs from the affiliated farms. This will contribute to ensuring market access and promoting stable and sustainable development of the local livestock industry.

Mr. Le Van Hai, General Director of Hai Thinh Nutrition Joint Stock Company, shared that Hai Thinh's success today is due to the company considering human resources as the decisive factor in the business's success. Hai Thinh is always proud of its dedicated and hardworking team of employees.

At the same time, Hai Thinh continuously absorbs and learns from advanced scientific and technological advancements in the world and in Vietnam; as well as taking advantage of the support of scientists and utilizing resources from the banking and financial system… Hai Thinh's animal feed products, livestock products, and processed foods use high-quality raw materials from reputable suppliers in Vietnam and around the world.

Hai Thinh also always prioritizes customer service. The company regularly organizes in-depth technical seminars for its customers, including dealers and livestock farmers, to optimize the cost of livestock and poultry farming. The company's leadership always listens to customer feedback through various communication channels… These actions help Hai Thinh build close and strong relationships with its customers and partners.

Finally, Hai Thinh received enthusiastic support in terms of mechanisms, finance, training, etc., from agencies at all levels, from central to local government; and from suppliers…
