'Where there is need, there is youth'

(PLVN) - In the last days of November 2025, when people across the country turned to the Central region to join hands to overcome the consequences of floods, at the Ho Chi Minh City Student Cultural House, there were times when the scene of hustle and bustle took place day and night. After only a few hours of calling, more than 1,000 young people registered to volunteer to participate in sorting and unloading relief goods to put them on express buses to transport to the flood center. Without any flowery words, a young person said simply but sincerely and touchingly: "Young people have the strength to help their compatriots."

In the Central Highlands provinces that are working hard to overcome the damage caused by natural disasters, one of the core forces is also the young soldiers, police, union members, and youth; with the motto of withdrawing troops only when the work is done, when the kitchens of people's houses are red-hot. The cadres, soldiers, union members, and youth do not hesitate to work hard, rushing into the most difficult and dangerous places to transport relief goods, examine and treat people, cook to save people, rescue property soaked in flood mud, clean up schools, medical facilities... There are union members who are only 20 years old, with youthful faces, but have volunteered to go to the flood-hit areas when the water is still immense, always carrying a piece of paper wrapped in plastic with the full name and phone number of relatives in case of an unexpected situation. Of course, such a bad situation is unlikely to happen, but this incident shows that many young people, for the sake of the nation and compatriots, dare to sacrifice themselves.

At the same time, when attending and speaking at the Talkshow inspiring young people, the opening event for the 2025 Autumn Economic Forum, the largest international activity of the year organized by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee;

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that Vietnam's greatest advantage is its 100 million Vietnamese people, especially the young generation who are intelligent, creative, and full of aspirations to contribute to the country.

In all decisions, priorities and development breakthroughs, the young generation is always placed at the center, with great trust and expectations. The young generation is the core force, even the most important, to implement policies and strategies; it is the decisive factor in the success of achieving the goals of making the country rich and strong in the new era. The opportunities for young people to develop their talents, promote their intelligence and capacity for innovation and creativity are enormous, along with the responsibility of young people for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Therefore, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, Vietnam is fortunate to have a "golden population structure", however, the "golden population" does not automatically transform into "golden thinking" or "golden capacity"; but the young generation must proactively strive to keep up with the development trends of the times; constantly study and practice to become both talented and virtuous people; start a business to enrich themselves and their families, but also for the future of the entire nation.

The image of young people devotedly participating in helping to overcome the consequences of natural disasters in the Central region gives us faith in a generation that continues to dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility for the common good; once again affirming the spirit of "wherever needed, there are young people, wherever difficult, there are young people".
