Breast tenderness, lower abdominal pain, and increased libido are signs that your body is ready for conception.
The ideal time for intercourse is one or two days before ovulation. Women may experience some of the following symptoms, which can increase the chances of conception.
Changes in cervical mucus
During ovulation, cervical mucus becomes clear and has a texture similar to egg white. This secretion helps sperm swim more easily to meet the egg. The mucus is cloudy and less abundant outside of ovulation.
Swollen breasts
Breasts may feel sore, tender, or heavy due to the increased production of progesterone, a hormone the body produces after ovulation. Even after that, some women may still experience soreness or swelling in the nipples.
Changes in cervical position
The cervix is located at the top of the vagina and dilates during labor and delivery. This area tends to change during the menstrual cycle, especially during ovulation. At this time, the cervix is higher, softer, and more open. When ovulation ends, the cervix closes and becomes firmer.
Lower abdominal pain
One of the telltale signs of the fertile period is a slight tingling or cramping sensation in the lower abdomen, which can last from a few minutes to a few hours in the middle of the menstrual cycle. According to Dr. Lucky Sekhon of the RMA Fertility Center (USA), the increase in progesterone after ovulation can affect the body. Some people may experience ligament loosening, leading to back pain.
A more attractive face
A study in the UK and Czech Republic, published in Biological Sciences , involved 260 men and women in 2004. It used images of 48 women's faces taken before and after ovulation. Participants then selected the images they found most attractive and appealing.
The results showed that over 50% of people were attracted to photos of women during their ovulation period. According to the researchers, the signs of ovulation are visible on the face and align with cyclical changes, similar to the scent signatures on a woman's body.
Increase libido
The level of libido increases just before ovulation. The body becomes more supple, and curves become more prominent when women walk. However, those who are anxious, stressed, or depressed may not notice these signs.
