DNO - On the afternoon of December 15th, the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center (Department of Tourism) organized an online and in-person seminar on "Current Situation and Solutions for Developing Wedding Tourism in Da Nang City," with the participation of over 100 guests including tourism service providers, wedding service providers, and event organizers from both domestic and international backgrounds.

Here, discussions revolved around issues such as the results of a survey on the current state and capacity of Da Nang's wedding tourism market, the draft plan for the development of wedding tourism in Da Nang and a pilot program to attract wedding tourists to Da Nang; an introduction to the infrastructure serving wedding tourism in Da Nang; wedding tourism trends and proposed solutions for developing wedding tourism in Da Nang; wedding tourism trends in India and some factors that influence the choice of wedding destination for Indian couples.

The opinions also shared information about the market, the potential for attracting Indian wedding tourists to Da Nang… as well as the difficulties in organizing weddings, including the limitations of the local wedding service ecosystem.

According to Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, the idea of ​​developing wedding tourism has been nurtured by those working in the tourism industry for a long time, and now will be the time for service providers to grasp the market segment, create action plans to connect the business community, develop a service ecosystem, and build a brand for Da Nang as a wedding destination.

Wedding tourism is a very new segment in the tourism industry, but if done well and professionally, it will make a difference and become a highlight of Da Nang tourism.

It is known that in the last five years, wedding tourism has been considered a development strategy for many Asian countries, especially Southeast Asia, taking advantage of the advantages of tropical marine and island natural resources, unique cultural values, and attractive event organization costs.

Besides the opportunities stemming from the overall growth trend of wedding tourism in Southeast Asia, Da Nang benefits from the significant increase and interest of the Indian market, one of the countries renowned for lavish wedding tourism, with a wedding market value exceeding US$45 billion in 2022 and estimated to reach US$100 billion by 2025.

In 2023, despite the lack of direct flights, the total number of Indian tourists visiting Da Nang reached 68,753, accounting for 4.64% of the total international visitors to Da Nang. Six weddings are expected to be held in the first two months of 2024.

The seminar also announced for the first time the message "Where happiness begins" as part of the communication and marketing plan for Da Nang as a wedding destination for the period 2024-2025.
