The province currently has over 200 spring festivals, the majority of which are Lồng Tồng (going down to the fields) festivals of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups, associated with agricultural beliefs and the hope for favorable weather and a bountiful harvest. The diverse scale of these festivals, spanning from urban areas to villages, places high demands on management, direction, and organization right from the preparation stage.
Based on that reality, the cultural sector has proactively advised and guided the organization of spring festivals in a proactive and rigorous manner. Mr. Nguyen Dang An, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: On February 9, 2026, the department sent a document to the People's Committees of communes and wards regarding strengthening state management of festivals during the Lunar New Year of the Horse in 2026. This document requested relevant agencies and units to review all festival organization plans, strictly implement legal regulations on festival management, and ensure that spring festivals are solemn, economical, and safe so that they truly promote traditional cultural values.
Accordingly, all communes have proactively assigned tasks, mobilized forces, and developed plans to ensure security and order, traffic safety, fire prevention, environmental sanitation, and food safety at festival sites.
Luong Van Tri Ward is one of the first areas in the province to hold its spring festival season with the Pac Moong Temple Festival (Quang Lac Hamlet) taking place on the 5th day of the first lunar month. Mr. Vu Le Dung, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Luong Van Tri Ward, said: "Because the ward's first spring festival coincided with the Tet holiday, we advised the ward's People's Committee to issue a specific and detailed plan for organizing the festival from the beginning of the twelfth lunar month. At the same time, we assigned specific tasks to each official in charge of different areas. On the afternoon of the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month, the People's Committee of the ward held a meeting to finalize the contents of the Pac Moong Temple Festival and the Tien Pagoda Festival (18th day of the first lunar month). At this point, preparations for the festival are basically complete."
Spring festivals in villages and hamlets are always important events eagerly awaited and actively participated in by the local people. At these festivals, the people are the main actors, participating in the spring festivities. Therefore, each person hopes to contribute to the success of their village's festival.
The spring festival of Ban Van village is one of the typical festivals in Hoi Hoan commune, taking place on the 11th day of the first lunar month. Mr. Mong Quoc Chien, Party Secretary and Head of Ban Van village, shared: Because the festival usually attracts many people from neighboring communes, the village pays special attention to reminding each resident to raise their awareness and responsibility, ensuring security, order, and safety, leaving a beautiful impression on visitors. The festival is an opportunity for people to meet and share the joy of the new year, so everyone wants to prepare thoroughly. This year, the villagers will prepare 8-10 trays of food to display at the festival. The tasks have been discussed and assigned specifically by the villagers, ready for the opening day.
Alongside the organizational work, folk art performances are also being actively practiced by the people. Ms. Duong Thi Hong, from Ban Chu B village, Khuat Xa commune, said: "To prepare for the Ban Chu festival on the 15th day of the first lunar month, the village's performing arts group has been practicing for nearly a month. Each practice session is not long, mainly taking place in the evenings, but we all participate fully and practice a lot to get familiar with the songs so that we can perform the best on the day of the festival."
From the unified direction of the province, the proactive efforts of local authorities, to the collective and voluntary participation of people in each village, it is evident that this year's spring festival is being prepared with a sense of responsibility and respect for traditional values. This is the foundation for each festival to truly become a celebration for the people, ensuring that the spring festival is truly full of joy.
