Contribute to poverty reduction and economic growth

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tuy Bunsereyrotmony, Deputy Governor of Kratie Province, said that Kratie Province is located in the northeastern region of Cambodia, 340 km from the capital Phnom Penh. Kratie covers an area of ​​more than 11,000 km², has 7 cities/districts, 48 ​​communes, 327 villages with a total population of more than 444,000 people (103,678 families), a population density of 40 people/km².

Mr. Tuy Bunsereyrotmony said that in Kratie area, there are 16 companies from Vietnam that have planted 32,273 hectares of rubber, of which 4 member companies of VRG (Dong Nai - Kratie Rubber, Dau Tieng Kratie Rubber, Dong Phu - Kratie Rubber and VKETI Company Limited) have planted more than 17,000 hectares of rubber and thousands of hectares of other crops.

"The operations of Dong Nai - Kratie Rubber Joint Stock Company are in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The company has also provided professional training for Cambodian workers and has strictly implemented the labor law and other relevant regulations of Cambodia.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang affirmed that economic cooperation is the focus of the high-ranking leaders of Vietnam and Cambodia, including investment, production and business activities of 16 rubber companies of VRG in general and Dong Nai - Kratie Rubber Joint Stock Company in particular in Cambodia.

According to Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang, the rubber tree planting project of Dong Nai - Kratie Rubber Joint Stock Company was carried out in a remote area of ​​Kratie province. 15 years ago, this was a wild land with a very sparse population; the socio-economic situation in this area was almost undeveloped; infrastructure had not been invested in and built, and the people lived mainly by shifting cultivation and nomadic living.

Up to now, after 15 years of investment, construction and development, Dong Nai - Kratie Rubber Joint Stock Company has actively contributed to changing the face of the project area, contributing to accelerating the local economic development, improving infrastructure in rural areas, creating jobs with stable income for local people. In addition, the company has also formed the habit of settling down with an industrial style for the Cambodian workers in the project area.

With an area of ​​about 5,000 hectares of rubber in harvest season, Dong Nai - Kratie Rubber Joint Stock Company is currently creating jobs for nearly 1,000 workers inside and outside Kratie province, with an average salary of 340 USD/person/month. Although there are still many difficulties due to unstable rubber prices in the world market, sometimes low, the company's revenue is still higher year after year, revenue in 2022 reached 11.6 million USD and profit reached 803,000 USD.

Over the past 15 years, the company has fulfilled its tax obligations to the Cambodian government, with an amount of more than 2.6 million USD. In addition, the company has actively participated in social security activities inside and outside the area. By the end of 2022, the company had contributed nearly 722,000 USD to social security activities in the project area and charitable activities launched by the Cambodian government. The company has also always cared for, built and nurtured good relationships with authorities at all levels in the project area, which have been recognized and highly appreciated by the Cambodian side.

"It can be affirmed that the investment activities of Dong Nai - Kratie Rubber Joint Stock Company in recent times have achieved very meaningful results and successes... The above-mentioned activities and results of the company have been and are making an important contribution to promoting the relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia to develop more and more under the motto of "good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability", said Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang.

Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia has been and will continue to accompany and support the investment and business activities of Vietnamese enterprises in Cambodia, including Dong Nai - Kratie Rubber Joint Stock Company. At the same time, he hoped that the company would continue to develop more strongly and always fulfill its obligations to the Cambodian State, constantly improve the lives of workers, maintain and promote good cooperative relations with authorities at all levels of Kratie province, contributing to the development of good economic cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Also at the celebration, Mr. Le Thanh Hung, General Director of VRG shared that from the beginning, VRG leaders determined that the rubber development program in Cambodia and Laos was not only carried out for economic purposes but also for political purposes. VRG's projects in the two neighboring countries have played a great role in working with the state to further enhance the solidarity and friendship between the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia. And Dong Nai - Kratie Rubber also carries that noble mission.
