The bright spot of Dong Son

Outstanding groups in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings received certificates of commendation from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Son Ward.

Applying and practicing President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style to real life, during the 2016-2025 period, the Dong Son Ward Party Committee linked the implementation of Directive No. 05-CT/TW with tasks related to socio-economic development, national defense and security, and Party and political system building. Each collective, each cadre, civil servant, and public employee closely followed the thematic content of the entire term and annual themes to develop a plan for studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's example that was appropriate to their functions, duties, and positions. For units whose plans did not meet the requirements, the Ward Party Committee assigned a Party Committee member to guide them in revising them, ensuring that the plans were implemented in a feasible, consistent, and continuous manner from the ward level to the residential groups.

Following Uncle Ho's example means emulating his unwavering commitment to goals and ideals, his simple yet exemplary lifestyle, and especially his close relationship with the people, listening to their voices. With this spirit, over the years, Dong Son ward has focused on leading and directing the resolution of pressing and prominent issues of public concern. For example, in the area of security and order, the ward's Party Committee has directed the implementation of comprehensive measures to prevent, attack, and suppress all types of crime and social evils, especially drug-related crimes, preventing major cases and ensuring a peaceful life for the people. State management of environmental sanitation is carried out regularly, promptly addressing violations and preventing environmental pollution, ensuring the streets are always bright, green, clean, and beautiful...

To make a significant impact in implementation, over the past 10 years, the ward has selected key, breakthrough tasks to guide and organize implementation. Notably, during the 2020-2024 period, it mobilized contributions from the people to upgrade and renovate 15 roads and alleys with a total amount of nearly 20 billion VND. Nine out of nine neighborhood cultural centers were also renovated, with the construction of gates, sports playgrounds, and the installation of outdoor sports equipment, costing 500 million VND. In addition, from the state budget, the ward upgraded 14 roads in seven residential areas. To date, the roads in residential areas have been basically invested in and upgraded comprehensively, meeting the transportation needs of the people. Implementing a breakthrough in administrative procedure reform coupled with the exemplary responsibility of officials and civil servants, the ward has implemented many solutions, from building new "one-stop" service centers and investing in adequate facilities and equipment, to effectively deploying new models and initiatives to better serve the people. As a result, the people's satisfaction index has improved significantly, and the ward is annually evaluated and ranked excellent by the City People's Committee in administrative reform.

To ensure that learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings is deeply ingrained in the thinking and actions of cadres, Party members, and the people, the Ward Party Committee has directed the Fatherland Front and other mass organizations to build and replicate exemplary models. Among them, the Fatherland Front takes the lead with the "All People Unite to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" campaign and the "Day for the Poor" campaign; the Women's Union with the model of "Building Model Branches with '5 No's' and '3 Cleanliness'", and "Building a Fund for Shelters of Love, Focusing on Poor Women and Children"; the Youth Union with the campaign "Young People of Dong Son Ward Learn from and Follow President Ho Chi Minh's Teachings" linked with youth volunteer movements for community life; and the Veterans Association with the model of "Building Model Veterans Association Branches", and "Veterans Participating in Maintaining Security and Order in Front of Schools"...

Through emulation movements, an increasing number of cadres, civil servants, and public employees have emerged who actively innovate their work style, are dedicated and responsible to their work and to the people, and are trusted and respected by the people. Recognizing the positive contributions of organizations and individuals, Dong Son ward has commended and honored many outstanding collectives and individuals.

After 10 years of implementing Directive No. 05-CT/W of the Politburo, the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style in Dong Son ward has become a regular practice, a way of thinking and acting on the part of each individual, contributing to preventing and repelling the decline in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle among cadres and Party members, preventing "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party, and building a truly clean and strong Party and political system. In particular, with the decisive leadership and guidance of the Party committee and government, along with the high determination of cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people, the important goals and tasks set by Dong Son ward for the 2020-2025 term have been completed and exceeded the planned targets. The people and officials of Dong Son ward are honored to be the only collective recommended by the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh during the period 2016-2025.
