The family of Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet (Tinh Loc residential area) has three victims affected by chemical toxins. Among them, the second daughter, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, is seriously ill and unable to care for herself.
At one point, his family's life was extremely difficult, with financial hardship, a dilapidated house, and constant illness.

Refusing to succumb to poverty, Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet and his family boldly developed a VAC (Vietnamese acronym for integrated farming system) model, combining fish farming, pig breeding, and rice and crop cultivation. To date, the family owns over 1.2 hectares of cultivated land; each year they harvest tons of fish and dozens of commercial pigs, generating a substantial income.
In addition to his efforts in economic development, Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Viet Yen Ward, and concurrently the Head of Emulation Cluster No. 3. In his work with the Association, he is always exemplary and enthusiastic in mobilizing members to participate in various movements, building the "Comradeship Fund," and assisting members in need.
Throughout his family's journey to overcome adversity, they have always received encouragement and support, both spiritual and material, from the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin at all levels. In particular, in 2019, through the Association's fundraising efforts, his family received 70 million VND to build a sturdy house, allowing them to focus on developing their economy.
Besides Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet's family, over the years, many disadvantaged families of Agent Orange victims in Viet Yen ward have been stabilizing their lives thanks to the practical and effective assistance activities of the Ward's Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims.
Mr. Do Chi Nghia, Chairman of the Association, said: “Over the past year, the association has developed 28 branches in residential areas with a total of 348 members. Thanks to this, the management, review, and understanding of the difficult circumstances of victims have been carried out regularly, ensuring that support is provided to the right people with the right needs. To date, all 97 victims, including 87 direct victims and 10 indirect victims in the ward, have received regular care and attention.”
In the first six months of 2026 alone, the Association raised over 388 million VND. Of this amount, 200 million VND was contributed by members and staff to the "Comradeship Fund," and over 188 million VND was raised through social mobilization from businesses and philanthropists. Currently, the association's fund balance stands at 467 million VND; the average fund balance per member is over 1.3 million VND.
Through this fund, many disadvantaged victims receive gifts, livelihood assistance, visits, medical examinations and treatment, free medicine, and encouragement during illness... These acts of kindness affirm the role of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Viet Yen ward as a pillar of support for victim families in the area, contributing to spreading the spirit of solidarity, sharing, and responsibility of the community in alleviating the suffering caused by Agent Orange.
